Christopher Eccleston + T2 = Destro
I realize I am a newcomer to posting inside scoops from the industry, and with good reason; I hate it when people spoil it for me and so in turn I like to pay it forward by not spoiling it for others. But since Stephen Sommers has done such an amazing job of completely f-ing up GIJoe I have no qualms about hashing out this one. The reason Sommers has not released any photos of Destro with the mask on is because he's keeping it a secret that the mask is going to be CG. Liquid metal armor. Think Terminator 2. Dennis Quaid let slip in his interview to Acess Hollywood that this same liquid armor will be used for the Baronesses armor. So now we know and knowing is half the battle against Stephen Sommers. M.A.R.S. uses liquid metal for their armor including Destro's Mask. God help us all. Damn you Summers, damn you to hell. |

nice try, but you couldn't be more wrong. fact is , Destro doesn't wear a mask in the film until...
SPOILER the end of the movie, and it is a pretty significant moment, thus the reason for the surprise for the audience. and the Baroness' armor we've already seen, and Quaid's comments clearly reflect its appearance and how she seems poured iunto it because it is essentially form fitting. nothing like reading into comments too much and creating ridiculous connections where none exist t simply validate your already existing bias. |

how else were they going to explain a metal mask that can emote and change shape? lol
If they had just plonked a solid metal mask on him and had him talkin through it that wouldnt be true to destros design would it?

Gotdammit.... the mask is a family tradition after one Destro got caught selling weapons to both sides.... Kinda like a " I don't want to seee YOUR FACE" but I (Some 3rd world country dictator) still want to buy from you..... man this is tunring into X-Men 2.0 with F'ing up the story. And no I am not one of those " I want a direct comic/cartoon to film people" But key elements of the story/characater you are trying to portray you just leave intact. Sheesh.
Damned armchair directors . . . .

Ok.... see I am trying to read as little as possible on this thing because from early images.....Storm Shadow's coat tails..the black GI Joe costumes....etc... I am thinking I will be, as I was with the TF movie, sadly dissappointed.
