I'm not how factual these articles are, but this is what I found for the future soldier. It's really sci-fi and it's apparently in development. They say the GI. Joe movie takes place ten years or so in the future, maybe they referenced these pictures when designing the costumes.
They do look quite similar in my opinion. Google Image Result for http://aftermathnews.files.wordpress.com/2007/04/robocop.jpg Future Military Technology |

The last exoskeleton I saw a video was just retarded looking and not practical at all, unless you think going into battle on stilts is fun. |

On a side note......as much as I like your article, you probably just sparked another vent session for all of the intellectual giants who have programed their brains and digits to process and type nothing but, THE MOVIE WILL SUCK!!........ DUKE DIDN'T WEAR THAT!!!!!!
Here we go again....*Sigh* |

If you look at some of the Joe weapons back in the 80's they were cutting edge and on the edge of sci fi. It isn't that big of a stretch to think that they would do that now. Anyhow yeah they do look a bit alike.

I don't know what their progress is on some of that, especially the active camouflage. I know they've made all of that stuff work, and it ALL exists, even the active camouflage, but the power supply is the main problem that they are trying to get over. The size of the cameras and displays required for the AC needed to be shrunk down more too.
The AC will probably deploy in vehicles first in about 20 years. I still don't know if they can get the power requirements down for the personal version within 25. They are trying to develop new solar panels that are more efficient than current technology that they can add to the uniforms and back packs. |
