i heard that ripcord gets to wear the mask...he got it when destro was disfigured trying to save Scarlett during a training mission for the international ( IT"S NEVER BEEN THAT...only a few international members ) team and he got kicked off so he uses what he knew to form MARS to prove to his alcoholic dad that he could become something...also, scarlett turned him down, and the baroness picked him up when she thought her brother who sold cars BEFORE ( to please the comics fans ) he went to EVIL Dr. School, and was disfigured while trying to create the super soldier serum that ended up gassing Snake Eyes, who was trying to rescue the future CC, making SE the super guy he is...
yes, he should wear the mask at times, and in private, or business, take it off. |

Gawd, I hope they dont phuck up Destro....He needs the mask, have some element of suprise, hardly any if any real face shots....like Darth Vader, give him and CC some foreshadowing, dont spend all our money in one shot!

I would go with a real "chrome" mask portrayed as being made of a reactive metallic polymer that is pliable until struck with sufficient force, at which point its molecular structure aligns to stop bullets, etc. I've been seeing a number of similar polymers poping up in science journals as extant or on the horizon to be applied to body & vehicular armor. The mask's seam would be invisible until a key sequence in pressed at the base(also invisible).
Whatever we get, I'm fairly sure it will allow for expression. Directors generally try to avoid putting actors in masks that hide the actors facial expression, since it detracts from the emotional nuance & impact of a performance. I really hope they don't use CG. |

According to El Miyambe he doesn't get the mask and really become Destro until the very end.

Which doesn't mean he isn't *evil* from the get go. He's pretty much the Destro we all know except there's no Cobra or mask yet. And they call him McCullen mostly.
BTW I wouldn't call him a villain... I'd call him an anti-villain. Like Ra's Al Ghul, Magneto, etc.

First of all, I will watch the movie. And, I expect to be disappointed. Mainly, because Hollywood couldn't make a good movie to save their lives these days. However, from the very little I understand of the movie, it's not going to be much at all like the comics or cartoons - so it'll be another turd Hollywood borrowed a franchise name and ruined by flushing a couple mill down the toilet. But who knows - Transformers was better than I expected.
As for Destro - nobody can live with a mask on full-time. How long does your mask stay on for Halloween? But I imagined it would be more of a Dr. Doom-ish mask, not a fully covered deal... Can Hollywood make ONE freaking movie where they don't throw a romantic subplot into it???!!! |

More importantly, will Destro still go with the open shirt and huge medallion look that won over all the ladies in the late 70s and early 80s?

In theory he does sport the medallion. Just like his ancestor in the prologue. Either the same one or an "updated" version of it. Remains to be seen.

This is tough but I have to go with removable. No CGI but from the looks of the script it may have a CGI aspect since he doesn't done the mask until...
Anyway, since Destro/McCullen is a man about the world. I feel he needs to exist both ways but I don't really want to see his face. I just want to know he doesn't wear it 24/7. gijoevscobra4ever |
