Also, Tim Roth for Cobra Commander.

CC's hood is blue in DDP, not black.

I am 100% for the traditional light blue battle suit and the navy blue hooded suit for everything but battle. Anything else is just plain stupid. it would be like having destro running around with his mask off the entire time. Or like saying Darth Vader's suit isn't realistic so let's tweak it. NO WAY!

thing is... "tactics" aside, you just can't have an idiot as the leader of a terrorist organization like Cobra. And he shouldn't have Starscream's voice either. SO. Yes, you can have a "maniac" CC... but why stupid? He built Cobra from scratch after all, for fucks sake! Even if he is financed by Destro in the movie (just a theory), the scot would never put his money and/or trust in an idiot. That isn't to say they can't be in disagreement. They clearly have different styles.

I would like to see him in shadows for most of the film, or at least in dim light, wearing the hood and pulling all the strings. He can wear the helmet near the end of the film while escaping or fighting.

It's highly unlikely that they'll have two villains with silver masks.
The hood is the better way to go for realism, but it's likely going to be a balaclava similar to Firefly's look, because hoods like CC's might not be practical in real life (for the actor etc.) |

Cobra commander will be more "behind the lines" anyway, please read. “From the Egyptian desert to deep below the polar ice caps, the elite co-ed GI JOE team, based from it’s headquarters The Pit, deploys the latest in next-gen spy and military equipment to fight crooked arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious COBRA organization from plunging the world into chaos.” Sounds to me Mr. Destro will get a lot of screen time in this one, but We'll know he's a mere puppet and that Cobra Commander is the real threat!

And since I really don't want to see Cobra Commander's face ever, I don't like any of the "Tim Roth" or "Gary Oldman" suggestions. What's important are the voice and for the performer to be capable of conveying emotion from behind a mask. It might be better to use two people for the Commander. |
