O.K. So I heard that they had considered making the GI.Joe movie a comedy. How much validity that rumor has I don't know, but it got me thinking.
I don't think that would be such a bad Idea.
A lot of us around here don't like the way it appears the movie is shaping up. They say it needs to be more like the old cartoon or the comics, or that it could be more realistic.
When they become vocal about it others say (not quoting any one person) "In the old days Cobra Commander knocked flint, and Lady Jaye into a lake of Butterscotch. Is that what you want?" or "nobody ever got hit, and just parachuted out of planes before they exploded. How realistic is that?".
That is true as well
So the question I'm asking is if you guys, and Gals would be satisfied with a movie that was very faithful to the comics, or cartoons, but was a comedy?
Personaly I woulden't mind seeing it that way. Pointing out some of the rediculousness that was "our GI.Joe" from back in the day.
Just like Austin Powers did to the James Bond spy movies from the 60's.
YouTube - Austin Powers - 100 billion dollars
Or like 'A Life Aquatic' did referencing the old Jacque Custo wild life documentaries.
YouTube - Life Aquatic - rescuing the bond company stooge Very "Live the Adventure" if you ask me.
Another clip for the same movie

Or how it appears 'Tropic Thunder' is poking fun at action movies, and the actors in them.

So do you think GI.Joe would be good as a comedy?
*edit*
By the way I'm not sugesting it SHOULD be a comedy. Just that if it were do you think it would be good?
