I'm looking forward to this movie. Fortunately for me, I do not need to validate my collection or existence by the merits of this movie.

this movie will be fine. I expect a fun, 2 hour escape that delivers what I have always wanted to see -- these characters brought to like in a live-action, FX extravaganza. |

at first I didnt like what I saw as far as costumes and casting decisions and script decisions, but I turned over a new leaf some time ago when they started posting footage. I am super excited for this movie to come and to be a good action flick. I am no longer expecting it to be what I want so I am fine with whatever they make (within reason of course).

I believe the film has potential to be excellent. It isn't set in the 80's, special forces don't each go round with indvidualistic clothing, terrorists don't sport large faction symbols and supervillains don't wear metal masks all the time.
All these things have to be considered when translating such a larger than life property to the 'real' world and I think they've done the best they can in striking a balance between 'traditional' Joe and real world verisimilitude.

curious were you saw footage, and i am starting to lean towards a wait and see rather than negative approach. i just bought some transformers animated toys, said i would never do it but they grew on me. mabee not all new takes are bad
