Target in my area is my choice, if they don't have it they check on their computer and find which store has it and hold it for me.

Okay I'm gonna go way back! Earlier people were talking about how awesome the trips to TRU use to be when we were kids, I remember that too...but then I started thinking about how I use to get my joes from Woolworths, Gemco (bought out by Target) Newberry's and Zody's...does anybody remember these little gems of a store...haha
I was only 8 at the time (yup straight arm Joes) so I would gather up $3 worth of change and ride my bike uptown to check out the Joes. Good memories.

What about Child World and PETER PANDA???????????? That store used to have entire endcaps full of single joes in the 80's here in Connecticut and I think New York.

their prices aren't so great, but Target scored a few points with their service when I got a really nice guy to go in the back for an Ultimate Battle Pack for me.
TRU tries, but their prices are the worst of the lot, which doubly sucks because they have the most exclusives and selection here. |

Dang dude. I honestly feel really bad for you. Tell you what, just shoot me that money, and I'll try to find something to do with it.

Gemco was the place!!! Up here in Victorville you could walk in at any given time and find everything you wanted! Also, we had a killer TG&Y in Hesperia that carried Joes in droves! And I'm not seeing the world through rose colored glasses of the past either. I stopped collecting these things originally back when these stores were around, and just remember thinking, good grief, there's a lot of toys! Those were the days! |

Let's all hang our head in a moment of silence for the once mighty TRU. Long gone are the days when TRU was GI JOE HEAVEN. I have fond childhood memmories of once was but will never be again.
