target is too expensive, tru restock is too random, kmart is great if adn when they actually get some, but walmart has been the most consistent so far so they get a majority of my business. i refuse to pay target prices unless i'm desperate. i left 2 snow serpents at a target this weekend... any other store and i would have swooped them up quickly.

Wait Target is too expensive and K Mart is Great if and when they get them (Scoring my First Destro/Breaker, Crimson Twins and Dreadnoks at K Mart), but doesnt K Mart Charge more (Mine does), so in turn that makes Target Great......JK

I'm going to have to go with Wal-Mart - and trust me, it cuts me deeply to have to say that. Target is the second choice. But, most of the Wal-Marts around here have tons of Joe stuff, at least recently. For a while there was a dry spell, but it's getting a lot better.

Toys 'R Us just f'ing sucks. About six months ago, they were OK, then they sold whatever stock they had and don't restock ANYTHING. It's really pathetic when you pass by a TOY STORE on your way to WAL-MART to buy well, A TOY.

Oh and, I'll have to second the K-Mart praise. My wife found Snake Eyes v.1 - which I wanted for months - at K-Mart like two or three weeks ago.

Also, I've had some luck with local supermarkets and Northeastern mom and pop-type chain store that carry Joes. So, I'd have to go with:

1. Wal-Mart
2. Target
3. K-Mart
4. Supermarket/ Mom & Pop

Toys 'R Us doesn't even make the list for me.

kmart is very cheap here. they rarely restock though so it's kind of a big waste to have a low price and nothing on the shelf.

I went with On-line retailers because that's what I've been doing since Wave 6. Even though I still hunt not as much as I use to during Waves 2-6. All stores are a crap shoot.

TRUs: I was lucky with Wave 1 and the two 5 Packs, and Wave 1 vehicles

Target: I had my days when I hit JackPot;Wave 4,7,9 CP Wave 1,2,4. & the DVD Packs. At $7.99 I don't hunt there as much

Wal-Mart: Waves 2,4,7,8,9 CP Waves 2,3,4,5 and they have the 'lowest' prices

KB Toys & K-Mart: Wave 3 & 5

Online Retailers: Waves 5,9 and many others that I canceled by finding them in stores before they got their shipments. Still the best way to go to make sure you get your Joes

BBTS for me. When I can, I hit the local Wally's and Targets, but if I don't find it, I don't sweat because BBTS normally has my back.

I was just looking for this thread.

I too felt like the OP. TRU went to hell. The aisles were messy, the stores falling apart, their stock sucked.

I even use to live next to the one where they film the national commercials...shocking how clean they make it look.

My memory of TRU as a kid was making trips there during my infrequent visits from living in Germany (Army Brat) and walking into this amazing place of bright light and clean aisles STACKED with toys. And I would go nuts buying all the GI Joes and Transformers I could afford with my saved allowance.

Man, where did that place go.

BUT. At least where I live there is one TRU that has been newly redone to add a BRU...but they redid the ENTIRE store. And it looks great once again. And I am happy to shop there.

And I think its a continuing trend because there is another TRU closer to me that is in the process of the same thing, and the changes look to be the exact same layout.

So, I think TRU has decided to try a new retail plan, and its a nice change.

I do still end up finding more at Target currently.

If you thought your TRU was bad, my TRU just put out the G.I. Joe Comic 3 packs. You know the ones with Lady Jaye in the middle of the two Cobra Troopers (I forget who were in the other 3 packs).

I looked in the back and I think the year said 2006 or 2007; that's pretty late, but at least the packaging was all new and shiny and gave me something to look at instead of the same Crimson Guard comic pack peg warmers and empty singles pegs. LOL.
