I'll always have some love for TRU.
For me, Toys R Us has allowed me to continue collecting since they ship to my overseas military APO address. BBTS and Entertainment Earth do also, but they seem to have to charge more for both their items and shipping. I ordered some stuff from BBTS, but my orders took over a month to arrive - Toys R Us gets to me in less than 9 days for same shipping costs.

TRU rules for me lately!

They keep the product coming in and I can't complain about that.

I go to a local Target in the Boston area(get everything I need there eventually) and I AM NOT saying which one. I am either really lucky or there are no other collectors in the area, but everytime I stop by the last month there are fresh wave 9 shipments and untouched bats to go along with them, which I gobble up. So if there are any collectors in the area......I got all the bats. So many of you do the online thing......isn't it the thrill of the hunt why we do this? Walking into a store with anticipation and hoping to find a Rattler or a BAT? And then the euphoria or crushing blow of rejection with no new joe items to come home with? I have a Target 2 miles away so I don't mind wasting the gas, but still, waiting for a case from BBTS or EE just isn't as fun.

I don't know about TRU offering to sample Video Games first, personally I remember Lionel Kiddie City being the first place I ever saw those game stations at...maybe even at Child World.

God I miss those places.

But back on subject, I voted for Target, I had a hard time discerning which to choose but they're the only ones I ever seam to find anything in anymore. Doesn't necessarily mean I favor them, just Wal-Marts tend to smell weird and the people there scare me...so I choose target, where there's a less percentage of scary people and sometimes (but not very often) they have a good selection of figures.

TRU is really late coming on the scene, up till a month ago they didn't even have an aisle for them.

Target is too expensive, Walmart is lame too. Entertainment Earth is where we have got most of ours, we are guaranteed to get the ones we want and the price is close to Target without the gas.

I don't ever want to see TRU go away, but where I lived in NC, they had closed 2 of the TRUs in the Raleigh, NC area, which was super sad.

I remember as a kid growing up near Charlotte, NC when we finally got our local TRU in, it was a big deal.

TRU is good for their exclusives and comic packs, that's about it right now. Target's the store for me, although I've had rare finds at K-Mart of all places.

By far, as the "retail caste system" goes, K-Mart is on the bottom, almost Big Lots quality anymore, with Wal-Mart next, then Target much higher on the totem pole. The quality of both shoppers and employees increases the higher up you go, too, as dick-of-a-statement as that sounds. (plus the amount-of-terribly-behaved-children-per-idiot-customer decreases as well.)

Granted, Targets are a little pricier than Wal-Mart, but you can also manage your way throughout the aisles without some sort of duckling-line of ignorants waddling past, or absurd checkout lines that take forever when you're buying 1 or 2 items.

The Targets don't stock as often, I don't think, but around here they're open til 10pm, same as Wal-Mart. Back on the East Coast, about every other Wal-Mart was 24-hours, which was nice to be able to go toy shopping at 2am and make a great find, as they were just stocked, and you don't have to deal with the normal idiot crowd. So depending on where you are, if you can make a Wal-Mart run at 2am, it's often better than Target by a long shot.

sadly.................walmart, plus its only 2 minutes from my house, but recently meijer is getting them in quite frequenlty too, target is just to pricey at 7.99 but a comic pack is 9.99 with two figures and a comic so thats screwed up
