The first two figures my mom bought me were Crazy Legs and Techno Viper in 87. I was so excited, seeing them on the pegs. Loved going home and opening them and playing with them. My first vehicle was actually the Coastal Defender. I started collecting as a kid in 87 and it was hard as hell in 87 to find Joes from the previous years. I had very few. Most of mine were from 87-88.

My first was Cobra stinger w/ driver. I also got Duke and Doc, and about 6 other figures and vehicles/playsets back in 82-83. I still remember it like it just happened.

My first Joe was Flash and FLAK [Field Light Attack Cannon] from the original 1982 series.
http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/82/flak/ I remember looking at the catalog that came in the box and feeling the excitement of getting other figures. What great memories. Awesome Thread!!! |

My first were some 88 and 89 dudes. Spearhead, Hardball, Lightfoot, Deep Six, Countdown, Dee-Jay, Skidmark, Downtown, Slaughter's Marauder's Mutt. The Bugg was one of my first vehicles, along with the Crusader. Good times! I think all of those guys are just as sweet as the 82 dudes, if not cooler.

First time a got a Joe was Christmas early 90's. The only gift I had was a Giant T.V. Box. that my parents told me to wait to open until my parents finished opening there gifts then my Dad would hook the T.V. up for me. Needless to say it was a bummer didn't need a big ass TV!! That was until I opened the Box to see it FILLED top to bottom with T.M.N.T Ghost busters and the first G.I.s I had ever seen.
don't know the names of who I got but they all had big back packs with para shoots that opened up still the Coolest Christmas EVER!!!! |
