Part of me is losing a little interest. My rate of hunting seems to be going down. I have everything that's out but with everything on the horizon I wonder where I'm going to go. We have over a year to go until the movie comes out and then there will be even more stuff. There is no end in sight to some extent. Does the completist in me keep buying everything? Troop building? Now we're beginning to see Cobra La stuff (which I'm not the biggest fan of) and the MASK character (which I'm more OK with than not but it doesn't fit the Joe line/history). I just don't feel as 'Gung Ho' as I once was. I even think that part of it was that wave 7 was easy to find. I'm just in a weird spot. What is everyone else's state of enthusiasm?

Yeah, my Joe interest candle has been waning lately.
I mean, there are live Vipers and possibly a Wild Bill somewhere out there in the wilderness and I'd rather just stay at home. If it were a month or two ago then I would be like a beaver on crack, looking in every crevice of SoCal to find them. Right now my "hunting" plan is that if I happen to be at a store and a figure I want happens to be there then I'll buy it.

I know that I am not as Gung Ho over the 25th stuff as I was the with the stuff that came out in early 2000. I don't know if its money related, lack of time and space. I have become very choose about what I buy. If I like the figure I buy it. (got the new IG Destro this morning) I don't go hunting for joes. I do check the toys when I am in stores, but do not make speacial trips to the stores. I am not army building any of the 25th stuff. I do plane on buying some of the vechicle, but will probally sell the figures on ebay.

Yup. I feel it too. Wave 7 had 2 guys that I liked (but not well enough to buy more than 1 ea.) Wave 8 have nothing i'm intrested in and Wave 9 has only got Maj. Bludd and the Snow Serpent. I think Hasbro is getting into the figures that came out 'after' I left G.I.joe behind for more jr.high related hobbies That, and the constant repaint and kit bashing... it's helping my 'collector' mentality to only get 1 or 2 from a wave. I like the indiana jones stuff though because i know they really don't have much in the way of figures to make, so getting a complete set will actually be a possability

No, not loosing interest at all, as a matter of fact the sickness is getting worse. I recently pulled out all of my ARAH vehicles and set them up in my room, I constantly search Ebay for parts and annoy my friends with almost non stop GI Joe talk., and I'm almost constantly logged into the tank.

I don't go hunting as much do to gas prices, so unless I'm pretty sure a store has them in I won't make a special trip

Yea, I totally feel the same way. Its hard work to buy Joes and many of the failed attempts looking for them is taking its toll. And since they are planning to remake Serpentor, Zartan and who knows how many others makes me feel all my efforts are pointless. I rather have a good quality figure instead of 5 versions. You are right...it’s never going to end. Especially when they are at 7 bucks a pop. Imagine all the space they will take in your home in about 3 years from now….gulp.

I think a break from the frenzy can be a good thing. Other than some recent searching when wave 7 came out, I haven't been on the hunt as much since earlier in the year. I try to remind myself why I want to get these - is it only the addiction of the hunt, or is it owning and displaying my collection? I took some time recently to rearrange and improve my figure display, which really seemed to heighten my interest. If the buzz of the hunt is a primary motivation, I can see how someone can get burned out.

I feel the same way though I still collect. I just don't go out of my way or spend every lunch break going to Walmart or Target.
