I'm actually on the verge of being done with a "completist" approach. Once I have Major Bludd, I'll have a complete carded collection of the 25th Anniversary line. At that point, I'll be much more picky about what I buy. I'm only getting three figures from the next wave, and I'll just get what looks really cool to me after that. If I wasn't a completist, I wouldn't own a Shipwreck (let alone two of them!) or a Flash. I'm looking forward to B.A.T.s, Tele-Vipers, the black H.I.S.S., C.L.A.W.s, and Trubble Bubbles, but I'll definitely be spending less in the future than I've spent over the last year. I collect DC Direct and Justice League Unlimited figures heavily, too, so I still have plenty to occupy my time (and money!).
Well, I don't care about saying I have a complete set, but I do want to have a complete set. It provides a feeling of closure, so to speak. |

Nope! I still enjoy hunting down Snakes and killing them!
J/k... But I have slowed down driving all over town because of the higher gas prices. |

I feel less enthused. More to do with disappointment - I think there is still so much potential within this line, and sure, you'll never please everybody, but there's already an excess of figures with multiple versions. That, and the unlikeliness of finding anything in the stores is disappointing. I can't afford gas to make special trips just for toys. Either they have them when I go, or they don't (usually the latter). But, I realize that when you have mild OCD, you usually get to a point where you become overwhelmed and can back off. And it's a good thing. Your passion will return. I know mine will when I get my first Snow Serpent. That's what I'm in it for. I like to collect everything, but I really just want the figures that were my favorites when I was a kid.

i have always been more of a cobra fan.you should always go for the things in life you care about.i liked the mask, the bad guys,. i mean they were bad ass,as for the joes, if you think a particular guy sucks, just dont buy him. troop building should be something you want. and build within your means. i will never buy serpentor, lady j or red ninja .there is a diff between collecting and addiction.dont get me wrong i do heave the g i joe bug. but i still wont buy something i think sucks.i have almost all the 25th series, but i can tell you this"im not gonna be getting any of wave 8." i mean repaints?.i even new when i was a kid that tiger force and python patrole was a means of reusing old molds .i did heav ethe tiger force dragonfly, ferret, and snowcat.it was cool because they were reprinting old vehicles.now this isnt the case. now we got to wait 2 more months to bet bat and snow serpants because of a repaint series.

I'm definately feeling burned out on the hunt and I typically love the hunt! I think I know what happened though
I was getting all the same anxiety and nervousness when I started hearing Wave 7 was hitting, I started hunting like mad (Just like everytime a new wave starts hitting) then one day I was in Target and saw that the new Indy figures were out! I tracked down the one figure and vehicle I wanted and went home. I realized I wanted more, so in the next day or so I picked up almost all the figures and noticed I wasn't as anxious about finding wave 7 anymore. A few days later I found 4 Vipers, Snakes and Duke.....I'm still missing the rest of wave 7 and I'm not too worried. I think the problem is that I got spoiled by the Indy figures and being able to find them in stores relatively easily (I've only seen 2 of the Cemetary Warrior figure) the lack of product is going to hurt Joes a bit I think. Mind you when the movie hits, Hasbro will flood the market like the Indy figures and I won't have this problem anymore, but until then, I'm starting to not care anymore |
