My manager @ work picked up a whole slew of old ARAH Joe figures from a guy who had kept them in his attic...this was about 5 years ago. During conversation he mentioned those and I asked him to bring them in so I could take a look at them. He finally brought them in yesterday and it looked like a horrible battlefield...waists, legs and torsos all around!
Since they were stored for so long in varying temperatures, all of the o-rings broke, thus the figures were all in pieces. I managed to match up all of the right body parts, but I have no idea how to re-assemble them. I'll have to double check to see if the screws will need replacing as I didn't think to check yesterday when I was piecing the figures together. Surprisingly too none of the crotch pieces were broken either! Normally I'd just use these as trade fodder, but there was some pretty good stuff in there. Straight arm Flash, x2 Breaker, Grunt plus a Cobra Viper Glider pilot (no symbol though) plus several other 83-85 figures. There was also a whole mess of weapons & accessories that I haven't even begun to ID and match up. Since my manager is a "wheeler & dealer" of all things, I traded him some crystal glasses my wife and I got for our wedding that we knew we'd never use + a few other "yard sale" quality items. So even though the figures need some work and a little TLC, I figured it was worth it since I didn't have much invested in these figures. So I guess this will be my first foray into repairing a figure...

Man, you'd be surprised...sometimes weapons/accessories can be just as expensive as the figures themselves. Again, great snag, FW  |

i do recomend going through an onsite joe dealer too. if you try to buy it at home depot or lowes (o-rings) they cost like 88 cents for 2 of them. i learned that the hard way

Just be careful with replacing the o-ring in the earlier figs, especially the 82-83 ones. The O-rings tends to be to thick and when you screw the figure back together the arm posts will snap off....I have learned from experience...try to use a o-ring from a older corps figure, they are used and flatten a bit, but tend to save the arms......
