The biggest mistake i ever made, involving joes, was when i was younger. I had so many figures and my mother asked me if she could sell them while i was at basic training. Like an idiot, i told her yes. I never saw them again. So far, i have made no mistakes involving the 25th line, but now that i said that, something is bound to happen...

I had a Piper. I think that was her name... LOL, ZING!!!
Well, I did the whole "passing on Flints" of course, but here's a unique one... At about 12-14, I tried customizing Joe toys. SE, Armored CC, Vipers, bunches of stuff. Made my whole line. 7 years later, with more sense in my head; I destroyed toys I would later kill for to have in my collection, including SE V1, v3 and Duke. |

I have 2 mistakes to list here. One is a Joe one and one is a Star Wars one.
The Joe mistake was made by my parents. I was hit by a car when I was younger and I couldn't go outside and play for awhile. My parents decided to let the neighborhood kids into our apartment so that I could have some fun because I had to stay indoors. This was a really nice idea by my parents, but a costly one at that. My parents didn't realize that just because I knew kids on the block it didn't mean that they were really all my friends. In the long run they ran off with half of my Joes. What a bunch of little bastards. I'm sure 20 years later now they are doing time somewhere for one crime or another. LOL On a good note I eventually had those Joes replaced and added some new recruits as well a little later on in life. I helped a college friend of mine move out of his mom's house and he gave me a shoe box filled with Joes. These were hardly ever played with and were in much better condition than the Joes I had remaining from my own childhood collection. Ok now for a stupid mistake I made because I'm cheap and don't have that much money to spend on toys. I went to a garage sale last year and this guy had tons of vintage Star Wars figures. There were about 5 or 6 cases filled with them. These were the cases that were shaped like C-3PO and Darth Vader. The guy wanted $3 a figure, but I was thinking what the hell this is a garage sale not ebay. They should be like 10 cents each. Ok sure I'm being real cheap now but I've got them for that price plenty of times before. Well the big idiotic mistake that I made was not buying some for $3 each, especially the "last 17" produced figures. I ended up only buying Anakin Skywalker. I can kick myself in the ass right about now for being so damn cheap because I'm missing some of those "last 17" figures and I'm not going to pay ebay prices for them. I simply can't afford it. My cheapness also made me pass on Flint and Snake-Eyes with black Timber at KB because they were more than what Target, Walmart, and TRU were charging. I just figured I could pick them up for cheaper sooner or later, but I was wrong. Oh well lesson learned. Last edited by Scoop; 04-29-2008 at 05:08 AM.. |

Mine was selling my entire collection of ARAH. They survived countless moves, leaky basements and other such unpleasant storage conditions. I sold them a few years ago to make some space in a townhouse my wife, kids and I were living in. Now I wish I would have hung to them so that my son could have played with them. Oh well....

1 big regret recently:
passed on 3 shark tattoo Shipwrecks at KB Toys. Yes, I knew they were variants - just didn't get them. 2 big past regrets: #1 = turning my back (while playing with Joes at a friend's house) and having some BASTARD kid run off with my v1 Storm Shadow. #2 = back in 1998, I drove up to Tennessee (I live in GA) to buy a MISB FLAGG for $300. Later on (2001?) I sold it at a local toy show because "I'm never gonna open it, so why hold on to it?" MISB FLAGG!!! WTF was I thinking?!?!?!? |

I was a chronic firebug when I was younger, so when I thought I wasn't "into" Action Force anymore (idiot!) I built a cardboard base (which was quite intricate actually), manned it with Joes and put them to the torch.
Every. Single. One... Please, I hate myself enough as it is so don't anyone here add to my guilt. I've since replaced all the casualties but, ya know, what a tool.
