I saw a Snake Eyes/Black Timber at KB when they first came out, and thought... that's stupid... Timber is Grey. I bought the grey one.

My biggest misktake was in 1993 i was 17 and we moved to a new house and I said "I think the new family moving in here would enjoy this aircraft carrier" but atleast I brought my defiant with us. I wonder what they did with it?

"back in the day" after watching gijoe the movie, my brothers and I thought it would be cool to make some sort of mutant/cobra la creature.... Well...about 15 or 20 figures later and a can of lighter fluid... we had a mutant blob of random bodies all melted together!!
how sad :( second mistake would be passing up getting another 25th flash about 2 times thinking that he'd be a peg warmer and I could just "get him next time".....yeah, never saw him again. |

I had ALOT of vintage carded and boxed items (rarer ones included: Firefly, Terror Drome, Stormshadow, Snake Eyes v1, v2, USS Flagg, and many others) I decided to get out of the Joe collecting business right before the 80's nostalgia crave hit....BIG mistake. Sold most of the stuff dirt cheap...(firefly went for around $150, Flagg for around $600, Terror Drome for around $550 etc) The 25th figures got me back into the vintage stuff again, and now I can't find stuff for this low of price AT ALL.
Same with other 80's lines like he man, TF, SW etc. Now I am S...L...O...W...L...Y... rebuilding the collection...starting with figures since they are cheaper. Last edited by spazzy; 07-16-2008 at 10:20 PM.. |

Well, earlier this year, I lost Dusty's Bi-pod. :(
Also, I paid $40 shipped for a straight arm Stalker and when he arrived I switched out his rubber band. I went to move his arm and it snapped off, then when I was trying to remove his gun from his other hand so I could open him up to see if he was salvageable, his fingers snapped off. I could have cried. :( Trading my aircraft carrier to my friend for a one winged blue TIE Fighter. I later traded back for it, but he had lost the front deck piece (with the 99 decal). Eventually it was thrown away, I remember tossing that last deck piece myself when I was eighteen or so. Selling my Defiant and Hurricane to a kid up the street for $120 when I was eleven. That day I went to the store and bought a Powermaster Optimus Prime--LAME. I will always regret this one most. I loved that thing more than anything--except the idea of having $120 to myself. That was the most money I'd ever seen in my life, and I couldn't pass it up. I have another now, but I miss that one becuase it was MINE during a time when it meant the most to me. Oh well. What can you do? I have to say, this is one of the most depressing threads ever. |
