What I'd suggest is YOU plan to spend the whole day and your wife can join you for as long as she feels like, but once she's had enough send her off to Horton Plaza (nice mall about 6 blocks away) and set a time to meet up later.
If you're only going for one day, go on Thursday as the crowds get bigger each day through Saturday, and hopefully you'll avoid the problem I ran into last year - Hasbro ran out of Pimp Daddy's by Friday! I was so upset, because I talked to the Joe booth guys and they said they had brought 5,000 destros which were allotted 1,000 per day, but apparently Hasbro wasn't limiting the stock and they all went before I had a chance to buy one. What made me especially frustrated is at that time NOTHING ELSE was sold out, just the Destro, so I think Hasbro WAY underestimated the interest in Joes and didn't bring enough supply (only 5,000 figs for an expected crowd of 140,000?!?). I won't make that same mistake this year, and plan to make getting the Joe exclusive my first priority on Preview night. If I don't get anything else done that night, so be it.
I do hope that Hasbro bumps up the supply numbers this year in light of the growing popularity in Joes with the 25th line. |

This is the fulfillment of a dream. I have a third kid on the way and earned a free ticket on Frontier. I also won a grand at the Black Jack tables, so it's now or never.
I'm definitely planning on being there on previews night. So can you get GI Joe exclusives on the previews night?
Falcon Fury, if your offer still stands for a cutsie on Preview night, I will definitely take you up on that offer. Same with BOMBSHELLMIKE. I definitely can use all the help I can get if I don't get there on time. I'll be wearing a faded blue shirt with red Cobra logo on the front and the words "Cobra Commander" on the back.
I plan on flying in on Wednesday.
How long are lines for the different companies?

I'm thinking we aren't the first ones to think about this. I'm sure there are other fan groups that have organized similar actions. How do the SDCC attendees and volunteers react?
If it really isn't a concern, then we should trade cell phone numbers as we get closer.

the lines that start a full day ahead BEFORE getting into the convention hall on wednesday night have no issues with cuts.
get there early wednesday morning, as hundreds are there by 6:00am !!!
the first line gets you to registration when it starts.
from there, you are registered, and then you go to the new line to get into the hall.
HINT !!! HINT !!!!! HINT !!!!
when the 1st line gets full, they start a new line. WAIT and find that line and get in when it starts. thats how i became 10th in line to get into comic con on preview night !!!
also, theres nothing you can do about the huge hasbro booth line. when i got in, all the vendors and volunteers where in line before we all were let in. there was over a hundred of em. it was whack, but hey. at least i got my exclusives.
te scariest part? as early as i was in there, they closed the line off shortly after i got in. i know. veeeeery scary....
anyways, SEE U THERE PEEPS !!! |

WAY to crowded for me..and it didnt matter anyway, there werent any exclusives left when we got there. Fortunately, Hasbro offered them online and I got one. Hopefully Hasbro will do the same this year. For all those going have fun! |

anyways, SEE U THERE PEEPS !!! | This is very helpful information. But I am still a bit confused. The Wednesday preview is from 6pm-9pm.
So are you saying that we should get there at 6AM Wednesday morning to wait in line to register. And then go right to the line to get into the hall for for preview night and wait all day until 6pm? And then go to the line for the Hasbro booth?
I am going with a small group so I have no problem doing that, I just want to make sure my timetable is correct. This will be my first time going for more then one day....
Thanks. |
