These were "made in China", as opposed to my other set, which I know are originals, was made in Honk Kong. Both 1985 stamped, but there are minor differences. 1) there is blue coloring inside the silver belt adorments on the crotch front, 2) the COBRA emblems don't have eyes dotted out,and 3) the eyes are painted wider.
hmm... |

Til tonight, I really wasn't even sure what you were talking about.
Because I never even knew that there was a later release of this set,
but out of curiosity... I went ahead and pulled my XAMOT (s ) out!
So you're saying that the originals has all of the above that you
had previously mentioned, and the later releases, and in this case
are the ones that you're saying were " Made in China," do not???
I'm not quite sure I follow on what you were saying but I went
ahead and posted pictures of my vintage and authentic XAMOT (s ),
so hopefully this helps clear up the mystery and smoke some.
And yes, both of mine do state that they were " Made in Hong Kong,"
as well as bearing the Hasbro imprints with the 1985 date stamp... |

So was Serpentor.

IIRC, at some point all figures started getting made in China, since there were figures still being re-released, some say Hong Kong and some say China. ALL should still be "vintage" the 2002 releases of the twins have darker and muted colors |

| | Guest Posts: n/a | if they say made in china most likely they are the mail away versions, the original 85 versions would have said made in hong kong. they were offered as a mail away in 1989 by that point most all the figures were made in china like "QUICK KICK" and "JINX" as well as the "COBRA DRIVERS MAIL AWAY" WHICH INCLUDED STRATO VIPER, MOTOR VIPER AND HISS DRIVER. They made a ton of "MAIL AWAY'S" of classic figures in the early 90's and the only discernable differences where the butt stamp and plastic quality

I've been looking for one of those on Ebay, but not many people even know their is a difference to mention it. I only have 2 Xamots both with pink scars. Hopefully one day I can pick up the red scar version. |

I am even recalling the price tag on package read $6.99 for the set. Seems logical because at that time single cards were about $3.50 with the tax already included. Those were the days LOL. |
