Hmm off the top of my head:
Snow Job - I mean you know what a "snow job" is ( a scam), but c'mon! I remember as a kid, asking my dad to buy him back then and my dad goes, " you want me to buy you a WHAT?!" Super Trooper - Just complete cheese... Big Lob - that codename's as ugly as his 'fro. ROBO-Joe - More cheese. WORMS - What the hell does that have to do with a vicious snake or terrorist organization or anything remotely intimidating? Capt. Grid-Iron - Fridge didn't work. Why the hell would they put a football helmet on a guy and give him football grenades? Crazylegs - Great, rip off a Bronx breakdancer's moniker...oooh 1987! Max - All the animals had cool, or at least logical names, but this poor guy gets the crap end of the stick. At least Order had a cool gimmick with his name. *And I'm sorry UK fans...* Action Man - I know he was more or less a "guest star" in the Night Force TRU pack, but c'mon. Maybe in the D.C. or Marvel Comics universes would that name work, but in GI Joe? Uh-uh. |

"Gnaw" for, you knowing, "gnawing" things, chewing them. And the "Gnawgahyde" is based on "Naughahyde" which was a really popular form of vinyl pleather in the 60s and 70s. Think old bar stools. The company that made it started an ad campaign saying it game from an animal called the "nauga" that could be skinned without hurting it.

Also... Sea-Slug comes to mind as a pretty terrible name. At least what his name lacked in intimidation, he made up for in purpleness. |
