I picked this CG up from eBay with the description being a supposed custom. I don't think that this is a custom as the paint and stenciling is a little too professional to be custom. There is no date stamp anywhere on this figure. Can someone help me identify which year this CG might have come from and if it looks like an original custom.

I believe you have a bootleg, which EBay sellers call a custom so as to avoid Hasbro going "Heeeeey, waitaminute!"

Maybe the custom part is the painting of all the screws and rivets.

I don't think so. If that were the case then there should at least be some form of a date stamp on one three places.
