If Hama turned down AE as is rumored, he's surely not going to want to do the reboot. I just can't see him wanting to retread ground he covered 26 years ago.

As far as the publisher goes, it's about knowledge of the material, understanding of what's important to the legend and fanbase, and willingness to spar with Hasbro on how the title should be handled. To me, Hasbro can often be it's own worst enemy. It feels like the accountants and marketing guys with limited familiarity with the actual legend are calling the shots. DDP has at least shown a real love of the property and has attempted to stay true to the original material and feel of the series. DDP supposedly had to fight with Hasbro to even finish the WWIII storyline b/c Hasbro just wanted to pull the plug like it did on Storm Shadow. I appreciate DDP for that. I can only hope IDW has the knowledge, dedication, and willingness to do the same.

I will attempt to support the new book, but at this point, I don't have much faith in IDW editorial. To me, they have not shown an ability to direct Furman into coherent story-telling. Again, I hope Joe is better than that, but given what we've seen from TF, I'm fearful.
I miss Hama

all i know is i hope they just restart the whole dang series and just do away with some of these truly outrageous and horrendous storylines and histories and what not. I mean snake eyes dying then being ressurected and killing lady jaye? dude, this is bad. Lets hope idw doesnt keep this continuity and restarts the joes over. end of line.

Agreed, niether of those events pushed the story forward. The Plague killing Rip-It and the glider guy on Cobra showed the cruelty of the Plague leader, but the events you mentioned were pointless. Oh wow Flint goes ape, yea like we did not see that coming, its not like he would have smiled after his wife just bit it. Snake Eyes becoming Daredevil and Jesus rolled into one was not cool. Both of these were crafted for shock value, and very predictable. These deaths were once compared to the deaths of Doc, Quick Kick, and others, but were not even close.

DDP's latest storylines, which are great, are not indicative of how the entire license was handled, at all.
