People need to stop ragging on BBTS. Every time I read a complaint about them it seems obvious that people just don't understand how the process works, and haven't put any thought into the logistics of it.
(1) Timing: They order a certain number of cases from Hasbro. Hasbro does not make any promises on how many they will receive at what time. They may receive 30% of the order in the initial shipment or 10%. It may show up in March or April or May or June. It is simply not up to them. (2) Pricing: $8.99 for an army builder is not robbery. More than $4.99 for any figure is not robbery. An operation like BBTS does not get the same pricing as Wal-Mart. Their orders are nearly insignificant in comparison. And if they priced army builders the same as the peg warmers their selection would be exactly the same as when you go to your local Target. They would have 40 buzzers, 10 Serpentors, and 20 Stalkers. And they will be at full price. Instead, they give deals on the less hot figures and price the hotter figures reasonably when demand and supply is factored in. They never try to get $15 or $20 for a preorder figure, just enough to spread out their cost across all the figures they get in the cases. (3) Hasbro will not make special cases up for them. It is nowhere near a large enough order for it. And no, they can't magically create a case for you that Hasbro hasn't shipped to them... the assortment of figures is not available to them to do it. Where would they get the Torpedo, CC, and Rock n Rolls? They simply don't have them. So as soon as TRU starts paying attention to packaging condition, allowing organized preorders, providing "pile of loot"-like shipping options (saves TONS of money), and does everything in their power to get things out as well as they can (as BBTS does) someone let me know. In the meantime, I will continue preordering product from one of the best mail order places I have ever dealt with. Sorry, I just get irked when people badmouth places that have been really good to us without a second thought... Last edited by poddie; 04-08-2008 at 02:32 AM.. Reason: spelling |

Ordered from BBTS twice, and I really like the factory fresh mint condition their stuff is in, BUT:
For international customers please beware and always remember to check the shipping rates they are charging you, compared to the rates as stated by USPS. Their automated checkout system takes the USPS rate and charges DOUBLE. Effectively, they were overcharging me by over US$100 per parcel box. I didn't realise this until I received the same product from another online toy store (an order which I forgotten to cancel), and compared the charges. I've had this happen to me on both of my BBTS orders. They were only willing to give me partial store credit for my 2nd order, were unwilling to do so for the first, and so I cancelled all my pre-orders with them. I used the store credit to pay for a single case of wave 6 figures. I'm glad to have gotten those figures, but again, they overcharged on shipping. US$40+ to ship eight figures?? Their reasoning is that for overseas destinations they are unable to properly calculate shipping costs. Funny that that's the case, seeing as all other online toy stores I've ordered from have been (and are) consistant and accurate in their shipping charges. I'd like to advise if you're not living in the US, before you checkout your cart, compare the rate they're giving you against what's stated at www.usps.com. |

I didn't say anyone in THIS thread did complain about pricing. Just look around though... many other threads "HERE" complain about their pricing. I was just summing up the common complaints and why they're bull. And you are exactly the type I am trying to make a point to. You read 4 or 5 paragraphs of well thought out arguments about something and believe that pointing out one minor technicality (in your mind only) invalidates the entire post. Good job... I'm sure your parents are very proud. Hopefully there are people out there who understand... |

Anyways, got my preorder in for the internet exclusive case of Wave 9. Good price considering their keeping the price the same until they fulfill the initial preorder. They're raising it $10 to $59.99 for the case after they presell out. For 49.99 I think I'll be able to rest easy while I'm waiting for my 2x BAT and Snow Serpents.
