I think using the Flagg as a base as a base of operations was a pretty slick idea, as was done in Resolute. They could even carry and launch a pretty huge transport jet off the deck. Static fortifications will eventually be overrun once their location is discovered. At least the Flagg can keep changing location.
But out of the options I vote Pit. In all of it's incarnations, it uses the best possible natural cover by being subterranian and holds the full compliment of GI Joe vehicles and equipment. |

The Terror Drome is also good, Modular Construction I think plus it can make people CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! After all nothing is better than turning a country against Gi Joe and getting that Government to beg you for Cobra Assistance to deal with the Riots the Terror Drome is causing!
Plus the Firebat is cool too.... But I'm gonna stick with the castle.....just a rather cool place to have as a HQ.....

Although I would like something new. Something cool. The Terror Drome holds high regard for me. It was my first and only Joe playset as a kid...and I always loved playing outside with it and making a Joe base out of wood and brick that the firebat would decimate.

back in woodshop, circa 1986-7, I spent a few months building the gi joe headquarters from the cartoon. it was built in 3 sections and it was 7 feet wide. well, I soon discovered how nice girls felt and I dumped it in my backyard, never completing it. but it was nice!

Kenny...dude that video clip of the oldman I can't stop looking at it its been a good 10 minutes now...ill post my comment
If this is based on all the actual toys and playsets of gi joe...then I'll build my own from the comics...ill take the terrordrome from the cartoon ill take the Sunbow gi joe HQ...that thing was large enough to have sky strikers fly out of the interior airstrip...and that cannon...oh id make heavy use of that cannon. my cousins and i we would always joke about how gi joe would never use it because the bullets cost a million dollars each..and gi joe was poor and looking back gi joe WAS poor it was always 20ish joes versus the endless legions of cobra thats like the national guard of hawaii vs all of china |

I agree but you gotta think back to 1983. Look at the 1st two snake eye molds. At the time they were simply trying to save money. I wish it have gotten the terror drome treatment. But at the same time the Toyline was still new.
