What do your grandparents think of your collection?

My grandfather is going to be coming over in a short while and I was wondering what he'd think of my room. But then after a while I also started wondering if I should start putting some of it away. Not because of shame but because he doesn't know about it yet. Also, especially considering that his wife passed away a few weeks ago, I'd rather avoid a possible argument.

But then I began to wonder, what do your grandparents think of your collection and your collecting?

lol.. good topic. My family knows I collect toys(grandparents included) They don't pretend to understand but they do feel it's better then wasting my money on things like crack ;)

my grandparents and the rest of my family know....what do they think i'm not really sure...(not that i care)...they pretty much leave me alone then again i am the black sheep of the family

same here, my father is really on my ass though about playing the stock market and stop spending money on all the collections i got going...i'm starting to believe him. i have had a really fun year though , re-living the 80's it's been fun . my pops says if i put as much energy as i do into toys into the stock market i'd be a billionaire...i think he's jealous when they visit for the holidays, his eyes get huge and he just says LOOK AT ALL THIS STUFF same line everytime.

parents don't mind...my dad always said "how old are you?" thats all i hear other than that my grandparents know and don't care

my grandfather collects anything and everything....(coffee mugs, magnets, hats, Guns, Playboys 50-to date, 45 record, this is just some of the stuff i have seen)

Well, all but one of my grandmothers are dead, and she's never really seen my toys, so I don' t know what they think.

My mother figures it's my life and if that's how I want to spend my money, that's my right; she knows I take care of the mortgage, bills and groceries first.

I don't think my dad's been in my house more than once, so he may well have never noticed...

I'd agree with most of the quotes above. I'm an adult, I work hard for my money, I don't smoke, drink, go clubbing or fight in the streets which are pretty much the only popular hobbies around here.

My parents and my wife may not understand my various hobbies, but they know it keeps me happy and they know that I'd ditch any and all of them in a heartbeat if it would help any of them in any way.

Anyone I know who can't deal with in the same way... the hell with them. I can find new friends who will accept me just the way I am!
