as of right now i have no intentions of collecting them, they really don't hold any nostolgic value being as they will be completely unrelated to what got me into Joe in the first place...but who knows really, in spite of some our doubts, the movie may turn out to be the most awesome Joe thing ever and make us want the new figs more than the 25th, although i HIGHLY doubt that...

If they look like they fit in with the rest of the figures, sure I might buy a few. But if they look lame, no thank you. I think the fact that they are 3 3/4 is a good sign though. Let's just hope the new vehicles fit the older figures too.

Depends how they look. I've passed up properties I love, just because the figures are steaming piles of garbage.
If they look good, I'd buy them if I hated Joes (which couldn't be further from the truth)! A cool action figure is still a cool action figure, but a piece of poop will always be a piece of poop, doesn't matter what it resembles. |

Wait and see for me. If not the figures, I will try to support the line in other ways. We'll see.....

on Jay Leno recently he interviewed Dennis Quaid and there was mention about GI JOE the Movie Figures & how he went into some trailer and got scanned so it will be accurate to the actors...but I hope they maintain the articulation of the current JOES and scale.
back to topic yes I would buy them Depending on the figures. if the figures look nothing like the 25th line I ain't buyin. who cares about the card art or packaging, its the figure itself that determines my purchase

Honestly, you should reserve full judgement until they're on the pegs. That seriously is what makes fandom look so bad and why a lot of people are really turned off by diehard fans. The ones that see one poorly shot leaked pic, or hear one bad rumor and are like "It's sucks, I'm gonna boycott, send death threats to the director, etc., etc." Me? I don't like a LOT of the stuff I've heard about the movie, but I'm willing to check it out to see how it turns out...and that includes related merchandise.
And as far as the movie figures go, if they're in the 25th/3 3/4 format, the very worst case scenario, they'll be great custom fodder. Best case scenario, the figures look great, and will be an awesome addition to your collection. I wasn't a big fan of the Transformers movie, but I will admit a lot of the figures that have come out (Barricade and Bumblebee and some characters that aren't necesarily in the movie), are pretty sweet, and I bought 'em. |
