This post string is for all Joe fans that like rap music / Hip Hop culture.
I was wondering: IF Roadblock recorded a rap album, who would be good to have write songs for him? Or to produce music for him? Here are some of my ideas: LL Cool J. Eminem Snoop Dog 50 Cent KRS One EPMD Dr. Dre RUN –D.M.C. Timbaland Ice Cube Fresh Prince & D.J. Jazzy Jeff House of Pain Beastie Boys Public Enemy (Chuck D / Flava Flav) I'm more of a Joe comic book fan than a cartoon fan but I'm guessing lots of Joe fans would want the original voice actor for Roadblock in the early 80s cartoons to do the album. Me? I always thought actor Tiny Lister should play Roadblock in a live-action movie. I think it'd be great if HE did the rapping as Roadblock. Anybody else have ideas toward this? Kamakura_Hawaii |

I'd get GZA/Genius to back him up lyrically. Dan The Automator would work the decks and serve as producer.

If Roadblock dosen't mention the the kids who were trying to jump thier bikes over the downed powerline in at least one of his songs then the album will be useless...LOL!

Some interesting & funny suggestions here.
zuludelta, I'll assume you're serious (not joking) since I don't know who "GZA/Genius" & "Dan The Automator" are. I'm wondering if I can find examples of their work on YouTube. For Roadblock's [first] album, I was thinking it should be sort of an anthology deal, working with different artists on each track to try different styles of rap. I think it would be a GREAT opportunity for any up & coming rapper since it would be a diverse opportunity. For his second (& future) album(s), Roadblock could always work with the same people again or collaborate (one of my favorite words) with other artists in the Hip Hop / rap game. I'm also a big fan of R&B but I don't know if Roadblock's style would mesh with the likes of New Edition, 112, Boyz II Men or other great R&B singers. Kamakura_Hawaii |

Out of all the people that you mentioned, i would say that roadblock's style would be most like EPMD or Run DMC... If you could have anyone ghost write for you right now, most people would choose Drake. Consider Weezy's MTs vs. How he raps now . Imma credit some of that to Drake. However, i dont think that Roadblock could handle a Drake joint, so I would take Maino as the ghostwriter and throw RB on a Red Cafe' collabo.
And you would need someone like Trackmasters to lay the beat and Produce the track for RB. Red would have to do the heavy lifting on the hooks and Second Verse. RB would have the bridge and the whole song would depend on the first verse, if RB couldn't hit it, i would do a 4 measure lead in with RB and have Red finish out the 12 before the first hook. |

There is NO WAY you dont know who GZA is...it's all good, just look up Liquid Swords..everything changes then!
Hmmm...Roadblock doin something? Automatically I go old OLD school like Treacherous 3 or something on Sugar Hill Records... I think RB has Grand Master Flash backin him up.. If it was by todays standards and he had a RZA/GZA combo backin him? He wouldnt have to do too much really...lol just show up. |
