I'm new here too. I spent over a decade collecting Star Wars figures, but as each prequel film came out, I found my interest dwindling more and more. These last couple of years, Hasbro has been dabbling more into video game and comic book based figures, so my interest has pretty much vanished. I grew up with the original trilogy and, for me, Star Wars ended when the credits rolled on Return of the Jedi in 1983.
I seriously got into GI Joe during 1984-85 when I was in 6th and 7th grade. I started to lose interest when they introduced Serpentor in 1986; but I still kept tabs on new figures being released all the way through 1994. I just didn't get any new figures after 1987 (Lt. Falcon was my very last GI Joe figure). So I'm most interested in remakes of the 1983-85 figures, but there are a select few figures from the 86-94 assortments that I'm still really interested in. The 25th Anniversary GI Joe line has brought back that fun and nostalgic feeling that I got from collecting SW figures back in the late 90s (only the new Joes are much higher quality). So I've jumped back into collecting Joes with both feet; but I'm not a completist by any means, I still pick and choose which figures I like just like I did when I was a kid. Anyways, I'm glad to be here! I chose to join this forum mainly because of the fan art and customizing sections. I hope to be able to contribute some of my own work soon. |

Hello there Hisstank! Just signed up, been reading the forums for a while but been too lazy to actually sign up. Thats pretty bad isnt it ? heh. Been a Joe fan since 82, played with'em til around 91 when I started to 'grow out' of it and got distracted by girls.
Lost most of my old Joes in a fire about ten years ago, been slowly rebuilding my old RAH collection. And been trying not to go broke with the 25th Anniversary Joes. |

Hello, fellow 'Tankers - I am pretty new here as well. I like what I see so far, but I just don't get the Bolo / Kota deal. If someone wants to clue me in, I'd appreciate it. If not, I'll just write it off as chemical imbalances among some of you. Not that there's anything wrong with that, though . . . anyway, thanks for having me!

Hey guys, I just found this thread.... I kinda thought you guys would have one as we do on the other forum I'm on (In my sig)..
I have be a Joe since I was 6, 1987, with Snake-Eyes being my all time favorite hero. I kinda got out of it when I was 15, then got into it when they came out with the 15th anniversary 3 packs (Had the fig I always wanted but never had). Other them that, I'm a Matchbox, Hot Wheels, and Model car nut. Every once in a while I'll pick up a new one if I like it. Not much for the 25th ones, but I love the originals. I found the site looking for info on the New movie coming out. Was linked from a YouTube video I saw. I love this sight, tons of info, cool people and I had no idea that people did what they did customizing Joes. That is awesome! This is a nice change from cars as I'm a bodyman/mech on real cars and have 6 1:1 scale cars as projects.

Just wanted to give a shout out to all you Tankers to say hello, and get my first post out of the way as well.
I've been enjoying this site since April and finally decided to get off my duff and join so I could throw in my two cents every once in awhile. I've checked out a lot of the other "Joe" sites, but I always end up coming back to HISS Tank again and again. I still have my huge Joe collection from the back in the day in the eighties. Some day I'll drag them out of the storage boxes in the garage, clean 'em up, and take some pics. Collecting Joes the second time around has been great. Especially since I can actually build a "real" Cobra Army this time. Blah, blah, blah,...well that's enough for now. Catch you guys around the forums! |
