hello all. my name's gary. everyone calls me 'Goggles'.
new to the board. new to joe collecting. in 2000 my star wars collection was stolen. lots of unpunched mint potf figures... lots and lots of hungarian, turkish, etc... lots of really crazy error cards... a few Brazilian POTF things... 15 blue saber lukes, 10 blue snaggletooths, variants up the hoo-hah... you get the picture.......ALL STOLEN. it was enough to make anyone stop collecting. but then I figured I'd start collecting SOMETHING (a decade later). My son Lynx is now 7 months old and I figured he might find it exciting (once he's older obviously) if we have something to do together (i.e. hitting up the shops and cons and fairs and what have you)... anyways... i'm a stay-at-home father. I have five dogs. I volunteer with a local dog/animal rescue (www.arfhousechicago.org). I'm a poet (and writing a book... I think)... i love film, drum'n'bass music, humor...etc etc etc...anyways... i've always loved joe toys and so far i'm enjoying this board a lot.

Hello. I've been signed up for awhile in order to read the front page news stories, but have just started checking out the message board. I've been a G.I. JOE fan nearly my entire life. I remember watching the "M.A.S.S. Device" mini-series the week it premiered and even still have my original VHS recording of it. And while I'm sure opinion is split or heavily weighted to one side, I'm anxiously awaiting the live action film this summer. I'm a big fan of director Stephen Sommers and have liked what I've seen of the film so far, so I can't wait to see it.
Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" and officially introduce myself to the board. |

Hi everyone :-)
Grew up in the 80's and watched tons of cartoons like: Inspector Gadget, Jayce and The Wheeled Warriors, M.A.S.K., He-Man, She-Ra, Bravestarr, Ghostbusters (Filmation), STARCOM, Dino-Riders, The Inhumanoids, Transformers and G.I.JOE (and on, and on and on - get the point? ;-)) Had tons of toys - all gone now :-( (guess my parents threw them away as I got older-damn parents!) I still remember getting up early in the morning, grabbing my pillow and a blanket and watching cartoons all morning in the weekends :-) Those were the days :-) In short: it is a privilege to be amongst G.I.JOE fans - worldwide - on the coolest G.I.JOE site in the Universe! |
