Hello, I just joined recently spurred by some disappointing pulls on Kre-O Wave 5 and not having anyone on other boards that I could commiserate with. My first Joe was Flash back in '82 and have loved the line since.

I'm new to the Tank. Fort Worth born and raised, fan since I was a kid, only difference now is my collecting is a little more intense. Love to do customs, hope to post some pics soon, always looking to buy or trade.

Hello all!
I joined back in February and been lurking a bit till recently (wondering what trouble I was getting myself into). I'm an old fart who grew up with the 12" G.I. Joe's and that was it for quite a long time. Then while I was in College I picked up an ARAH Snow Serpent because I thought he looked pretty cool. He sat on my desk or bookshelf for a few years and disappeared into some dark abyss. There was another long hiatus until I saw some G I Joe's on a friends desk at work this past winter and started to get the itch. Frankly, I thought Hasbro wasn't making them any more and was quite surprised to see them. Following in my earlier footsteps I picked up a ROC Snow Serpent to replace the one that disappeared so many years ago. Then I saw the ROC Ice Viper and picked up a couple of those too. I started looking online at images of the vehicles and saw the H.I.S.S. Mk. V and decided I had to have one....and customize it! Then I got a few more H.I.S.S. tanks and painted them too. Well, a tank platoon needs some infantry support, right? Yeah, I was hooked after that. I have been army building since then. My largest force consists of Neo-Vipers. I wasn't planning on building an army of these guys because they looked a bit odd, but the online store prices were impossible to ignore - they were almost giving them away at the time. Well...these little guys do start to grow on you after a while. They are supported by Cobra Viper Commandos and a few other small Cobra units. My second largest army is my arctic force - composed primarily ROC Snow Serpents and ROC Ice Vipers. I have always been fascinated with arctic combat and this army is my pride and joy. These two armies are supported by a small unit of Naval Neo-Vipers, Cobra Viper Commandos and EELs. My vehicle collection currently consists of two (now black) Retaliation HISS tanks, a converted Crimson HISS (now black w/Retaliation HISS tracks), a second Crimson HISS in the the process of the same treatment. A Captain America Goliath (now a HISS Wheeled Armored Support Platform), two Ice Cutters and a Tread Ripper converted into a black HISS Scout. Future projects: Two Ninja Combat Cruisers and one VAMP Mk II that will be converted into variations of Stinger Mk IIs. Iron Man Iron Strike ATV that will be converted into a Super Stinger/Rattler. Another Tread Ripper that will either be a second HISS Scout or an Arctic HISS Scout. Brown HISS V and another Retaliation HISS that will become Arctic variants. Iron Man Firestrike - was originally going to convert into a Fire Bat, but I decided it will be a submarine instead. Stark Assault Armor (CA variant) that will be converted into SNAKE/Serpent Armor. So much to do..... Great forum you have here - it was pictures I found here of converted HISS tanks that really inspired me to develop this as a hobby. Hello.
Here to learn about the toy line as I'd prefer to have kids into using their imagination and not be stuck with video games all the time. Never owned any Joes growing up. |

Welcome to the tank! You will find many tankers eager to help. Glad to hear there are still parents out in the world not sticking the kids in front of the idiot boxes 24/7

Hi, New to the tank, though I have lurked off and on over the years. Kre-o and purchasing a custom Blowtorch 4inch figure is what tipped me into posting here. Right now I am in a small apartment, but after my wife and I finish building our new home I plan on resuming collecting ARAH and starting on my favorites from the modern era figures.
I grew up with Joes in the 1980's(toys, cartoon and comic), paused on buying the toys in the mid 90's, kept up with the comics through the late 2000's, started up again with Lego this year, which led me to Kre-o bricks, and then I finally decided I did in fact want to collect the Kre-o figures as well even if my first love was Lego minifigs. I periodically re-watch the Sunbow cartoon throughout the past few decades, though recently its been on Netflix as my copies are taped vhs's and I no longer own a VCR |
