as few points to make...
First duke, yes he is the one of the main guys but he is not as cool or powerful as hawk. He is so clean cut compared to the other joes no one thinks he could do what it takes to stop cobra in my book, i know the cartoon movie will always draw lines between us tankers so that why i am looking fot next in command. I already have a nice list and will have to make a poll and have you all vote here is who i have to far please let me know who esle we want on this list before i make a poll Colonel Courage Capt. Grid-Iron Stalker Major Strom Beachhead Scarlett Claymore Flint (I will add just to make a point but in my story is leads a small black ops team) Flacon will never lead i am sorry guys unless someone can show me or give me a reason why he shouldnt just be kicked off the joe team i have no idea i really dont on him. The problem with your poll list is that you're combining officers and enlisted personnel as if they're interchangeable. Stalker, Beachhead and Scarlett would never be put in charge of the team. They would serve as NCOs and could be placed in charge of small teams and lead missions, but the command of the team should be given to an officer. |

Two outside options:
1- You guys are going to hate this, but Sgt. Slaughter. The cartoon version would have been a great Joe commander. 2- Scarlett- A tough female in charge would be awesome! With everyone saying Falcon, Bechhead and Flint, I wanted to throw 2 different ones out there. Just thinking outsiode the box (I didn't read the whole thread, so if someone already mentioned these, sorry!). |

Like the real Army, they'd bring in some douchebag Pentagon chairborne ranger from Fort Mangina and he would come in changing stuff to prove he's the boss. All the Joes would hate him and wish they had Hawk and Duke back.
this new guy, We'll call him D-Ring, would have a Dunkin Donuts coffee mug hung off of his LBE by a steel D-Ring. He would chew the butt of any Joe that had a D- ring on his LBE. The only good thing would be that this guy's wife, a Major in her own right, would work in the Intel shop and would develop crushes on some of the Joes due to dissatisfaction with her husband's inadequacies. She would boost morale by sending these guys boxes of fresh- cooked brownies when they were in the field... wait what the hell? flashback???? |

Yeah so what I meant to say was I think the Cartoon lays out Beachhead, and Stalker is a good old Joe but he's pushing retirement. I think a new officer should step up. It may be the next senior, but not necessarily. Command positions are selected, one does not just fall into place. This is because many officers simply do not belong in command, or let's say they may not be "ready" for command.
SO who are our Officer Choices? Torpedo has been a lieutenant for 25 years... Ace is an officer. Who else? I don't have the filecoards with me over here... |

But like Freedom said earlier, guys like Ace, Steeler, Cutter, etc. wouldn't be placed in charge of the team, just their respective crafts. Someone like Colonel Courage, Capt. Grid-Iron, or Lt. Falcon would be more qualified to lead the team as a whole. And, if we consider Torpedo a lieutenant, he wouldn't be a bad choice. As a Navy SEAL, he's more than just a diver. |

Yeah if you do a poll you would have to include Falcon. Like him or not many tankers do. I figure in reality the Joe team would be smaller and thus led by a Captain or Major. However my Joe team is larger so I have a few Generals.
But say Hawk and Colton retire, so Flagg III and Courage becomes overall Joe Commander and XO. If Stalker and Snake-Eyes retire too and Gung-Ho, and then I'd say Beachhead. Otherwise the job of First Sgt belongs to Stalker. That was what Hama had in mind before Hasbro created Duke. I like to imagine the Joes would have several field commanders each with his own XO and Sgt Maj or First Sgt. So: Urban Team Sure Fire (0-5) Bullet-Proof (0-4) XO Mercer (E-9)(Lead NCO) Jungle Ranger Team Claymore(0-4) ???(XO) Big Brawler(E-8) (Lead NCO) Special Force ODA team Falcon(0-3) Flint (WO-4) (XO) Beachhead (E-9)(Lead NCO) SEAL\Force Recon team Lt. Torpedo(0-3) Wet-Down (WO-5) (XO) Gung-Ho (E-9)(Lead NCO) Armor Team Major Storm (0-4) Steeler (0-3) (XO) Sgt Slaughter or Dodger or Hot Seat (Lead NCO) Artillery Team Major Barrage (0-4) ???(XO) Long Range or Short-Fuse (Lead NCO) Other Joe Infantry Officers who may get teams Rapid-Fire Psyche-Out Super Trooper Grid-Iron |
