I came very close to buying the Spytroopers Cobra Mountain playset even though I wasn't collecting GI joe figures at the time. I think the only thing stopping me was the size.
I always liked the original GI Joe HQ set, but the cartoons got it wrong. In the comics this was a pre-fabricated base used once to cover the real Joe HQ when attacked by Cobra, and another time as a base to hold Cobra Commander up in the rockies. In the cartoons it seemed like they took the toy base, expanded it's size 1,000 times.

Definitely Terrordrome or Cobra Island/Mountain. Heck, I'd take the abandoned freighter-base. However, nothing would beat some kind of big Silent Castle playset. That would be too cool.
