I always mess up on the 'to' and 'too', as well as the 'then' and 'than'. Spelll check corrects the then and than, but not the to and too.
Spellcheck and grammarcheck hate me. I hit "ignore" alot, lol

The Atoll pt 6
Time: 3 hours 30 minutes after Mission Launch Sgt Stone looked out the viewport of the WHALE’s front hold, the thin slit not letting him see much, but able to see just enough to see the island getting closer. He braced himself just as the hovercraft hit land, giving a rough bump and making the men that had spent the last hour cramped in the hold bump into each other. Here we go, he thought, as the top part of the hold swung open and the ramp starting swinging down, time to set up a beachhead with a unit not equipped for it. That’s why we get paid the big bucks. Sighing, he stepped up out of the hold and onto the ramp, running down, Beaver and Shortburst on either side of him, weapons sweeping the beach. The support team, at mission prep, had been set up to be just that, support of the hazmat unit, who was back on the Ledger. The intel had pegged the atoll as a research facility, most likely chemical. The Recon Team would go in, check it out, and call in the rest of the unit. The support team would then take the buildings and let the hazmat boys do their work. Establishing a beachhead on a hostile island was not in the game plan. “All right Joes,” he shouted as more of the twelve man unit got out of the WHALE and spread out on the beach, all eyes towards the tree line. “This spot of beach is ours for the next thirty minutes. If Bulldog doesn’t have a safe place to land, he will do worse than any Cobra could ever think of doing. We aren’t equipped or manned for doing this, but that won’t stop us.” “Yo,” a chorus from the men went up. They all knew that if the Cobras tried to storm the area, they’d most likely succeed, but if Bulldog wanted a safe beach, then they would give him a safe beach. “Roughshot, Flattop, Hammerhead and Sandbar,” he said “Take the left and scout out. I want to know if anyone is coming two years before they get here.” “We’ll give you four years warning,” Flattop said smiling as he and the others mentioned headed off the direction ordered, two angled almost dead left, and two more spread out from front and left. “Mariner, Beaver, Barracuda and Shortburst. You boys got the right.” The four indicated gathered up and headed off, following the same pattern as the first group. “Shaman, get a triage set up in the WHALE,” Stone ordered. “We may have wounded incoming.” He turned and looked at the WHALE and then at the tree line. They weren’t that far apart, couple of tree lengths. “Shipwreck and Overboard, you guys are security. Harpoon, Triton, with me,” he said heading back into the WHALE. “And what are we going to be doing,” Triton asked following. He got his answer as Stone handing him an axe. Stone climbed out of the WHALE, another axe in hand and started off towards the trees. “We’re on tree duty,” he said pointing out a couple of trees. Fairly tall but not that wide. “We have thirty minutes to build some defenses.” Getting a good grip on the axe he swung. *************** Location: The PIT, Conference Room A off Operations Center Flagg looked at the large screen. On it was an image of the structure the recon team had found in the middle of the jungle on the atoll. There was no video, just still images. Smaller pictures surrounded the larger one. The Recon Team had been very thorough, they had images from almost all the sides, and shots of the small dock and barge as well. Colton and Hawk remained in the operations center. Flagg was given the task of analyzing the pictures and trying to get a better idea of what they were looking at. In the room with him was Tollbooth and Rebar from the Expeditionary Fortifications Unit, the Joe teams on-mission airfield and bunker construction team, as well as deconstruction. Flagg wished a couple of them were with the assault unit now. Headset was the analyst running the computers. Asbury and Boffin, from research, were there as well. They all had printed out photos to reference. “This is what the recon time discovered,” Flagg said, using a laser pointer to highlight various parts of the structure. “Ignore the vehicles for now. Trakker is assembling another analyst team to take a look at those. Our focus is the building. Take note of the crenellations at the top as well as what appears to be a ground level garage.” “Prefab of some kind,” Tollbooth said. “Explain please?,” Flagg asked. “Prefabricated,” Rebar answered. “It means that the individual pieces are built somewhere else, transported on site and then put together.” “Right,” Tollbooth said getting up and going to stand in front of the screen. “See where these guys are welding?,” he asked tracing a line in the metal panel with his finger. “Can see lines here and here. I’d say that this is a single panel.” “Say 15x15 or so,” Rebar said. He slid a picture of the barge into the middle of the table. “If the barge is how they brought the pieces in, and would have to be, no airstrip and I don’t even think we could build one on that island. That barge isn’t big, the pieces would have to be no more than 15x15.” “That shallow a barge,” Asbury added. “Probably couldn’t handle more then 2 or 3 panels at a time.” “Assuming they’re steel,” Tollbooth said sitting back down. “What else would you make them from?,” Rebar asked. “Steel’s still the best at stopping gunfire and rockets.” “Some new kind of material,” Boffin asked staring at the pictures intensely. “I doubt it,” Asbury said. “There’s security but not enough.” “I agree,” Flagg said. “If I was building something with a new material, I sure as hell wouldn’t let anyone within a mile of the place.” “Location itself is security,” Boffin pointed out. “Steel or not,” Asbury said looking at the large screen. “In 15x15 panels, something that size sure as hell took a long time to build.” “How do the panels get to the island? That barge is shallow,” Flagg asked. “Bring a ship in close and hope the waves don’t get to big,” Tollbooth said shrugging. “That’s what I’d do anyways, if didn’t have access to a JHSV.” “Headset,” Flagg said. “Bring up all sat images around that island for the last month. Try and find anything with any ship traffic coming within…” he paused and looked at the others around him.” How far would you say?” “Taking a guess,” Asbury said for the others. “No further than a mile.” ************ Progress was slow, but it was progress, Stone thought looking at the trees that had fallen. Between the two of them, Triton and he had gotten 4 of the smaller trees down. Harpoon with Overboard’s help had dragged them and spread them at intervals along the beach on the left hand side. The idea being that it would impede tank progress. At least that was the idea. Stone hadn’t have been as active in the chopping as he had wanted to be. Coordinating the movements of the scouts, and not being able to see them, was taken up some of his time. Comm silence with the recon team and Gung-Ho’s search team worried him. He had hoped that at least one group would have made contact by now. “Sgt. Stone,” Shipwreck yelled from the WHALE. “Bulldog’s five out.” Hoisting the axe over his shoulder, and grabbing the assault rifle that had always been within reach, Stone started walking back towards the beach, sleeves rolled up, marine corps tattoo visible on his right forearm, having worked up a good sweat. Luck’s been with us so far, he thought, but that won’t last. Getting to the beach he could see two dark shapes further out and heading their way, the two landing craft.

The Seduction Pt 2
“What do you think Doctor Stevens?” Rey asked the man sitting next to him. They were in a fairly stark room, no decoration on the stone walls. A couple of technicians were working on computer terminals scattered around the room. Rey and an older man, still with dark hair, but large patches of gray, almost silver, at the temples, sat at one of the stations. They were watching video monitors. The monitors showed the room that Booker was in. Currently he was sitting on the bed, a couple of books open, he was writing on a pad of paper. “It’s slow progress,” the older man replied staring thoughtfully at the monitors. He had a pad of paper as well and was writing notes. “But it’s progress. When did he ask for the paper?” “Yesterday evening at dinner,” Rey said. “He was very polite about it as well. The guard was surprised.” “Have we been able to get a look at what he’s writing,” Dr. Stevens asked. Rey turned a knob on the control panel and the image changed, camera behind and over Booker’s shoulder, and zoomed in on the pad of paper. It was hard to make out, out of focus, so Rey zoomed back some and they were able to make out what the books were. “I’d say yes,” Rey said leaning back and smiling. “That’s very good,” Stevens said making some notes on his pad. “He’s comparing the history that he knows with the true history in the books by the Society. Soon he’ll start evaluating how much of the good that happened was a result of the Society.” “And that will lead him down the path we want,” Rey said satisfied. “We hope,” Stevens cautioned. “I just wish you would relent and allow me to use the drug.” “No Doctor,” Rey said, exasperated. “He must come to the decision of his own free will or else it does not matter.” “Crystal Ball is not a mind alterer,” Stevens said sighing. “It just unclouds the mind, leaves it open, and allows one to think unfettered with dissenting opinions.” “And leaves those under the influence open to whatever suggestions they hear,” Rey stated. “No Doctor Stevens, it must be of his own free mind.” “That being said,” Stevens said, pointing at the monitor with his pencil. “He appears to be moving in the direction we want.” “Good,” Rey said. “What about those looking for him?,” Stevens prompted. “The more we capture the better the chances of success.” “True,” Rey conceded “But I think we shall succeed with him. And if we don’t, then nothing lost, but everything to gain.” “And the searchers?” “Being taken care of.” ************* Booker looked around. The room was large and well furnished. The table could easily have fit twenty people, but was set for only four. Large fine wooden hutches and cabinets, the woodworking beautiful, lined the stone walls. Well made carpets, expensive by the look, were on the floor. Stone fireplaces, large enough to walk into, were on either end, fires roaring. Two of the guards, they called themselves Neo-Vipers, escorted him into the room. They hadn’t bothered binding his hands, which bothered him. They either didn’t think he’d try to escape or they thought that he wouldn’t want to try to escape. And that’s what bothered him. The guard gently nudged him with the butt of his rifle, prodding Booker to move deeper into the room. They led him to a chair, to the right of the head of the table. The guards indicated he was to sit and Booker did so, looking around, wondering what was going on. His was the only place set on this side of the table. The guards stepped back and took up position at the wall. A door across from him opened and Booker watched Rey walk in. The man carries himself like a king, Booker thought. Rey was wearing the green scale long coat. Booker wondered if it was just a style that Rey liked or somekind of symbolic adornment. With Rey, walking behind him and talking quietly to themselves were two others, a man and a woman. The man was a little shorter then Rey, with black hair and silver at the temples. He was dressed in a sport coat and slacks. The woman was dressed in slacks, with a white buttoned up shirt, she wore a coat that matched the slacks, she had tight curly long brown hair and was very attractive. She was buttoning the coat as they approached. Booker remained seating, he knew he was expected to rise. He thought he saw Rey give a slight smile and the other man, that man looked at Booker like he was an experiment. The woman was indifferent. “Sit friends,” Rey said as he took his chair. “How are you tonight Mr. Horner?” “Booker,” was the reply. “I would like to introduce you to Doctor Stevens,” Rey said indicating the man. “And the lovely Doctor Biggles-Jones. Friends from the University.” “Why am I here,” Booker asked. “Why to enjoy some good company,” Rey said smiling “and a good meal.” He clapped his hands and the door opened as servants walked in bearing trays of food.

Nice. Very nice. I like how "Crystal Ball" is now a perception-altering psychoactive substance, instead of a a bad Vincent Price impersonator with a goofy "hypno-shield."
