Maybe b/c it is hard to sculpt a 3 3/4 inch scale face (wearing a wetsuit hood, no less) that is easily identified as a Pacific Islander. Granted, his last name is also Leialoha, i.e., "lei" plus "aloha," so I'm not sure that his heritage was being taken ultra-seriously. I'll gladly eat these words if anybody can actually prove that that is supposed to be a serious Hawaiian name.

I also thought that it was just a generic name. (Lei+aloha) Then I saw the name in the comics. I saw his pencils in "High Adventure" and compared them to Larry's. I'm not convinced that it wasn't a pseudonym used by Larry. Of course I can't back that up in any way. Just a gut feeling.
