Transformers and GI JOE Toys?

So, I was reading an article on toynewsi.com and it got me thinking. So, the article states that Hasbro is merging its Marvel/Transformers and Star Wars/Transformers line into line called Transformers Crossovers.

So, I have a question for any of you with Hasbro connections. Have they thought of doing a Transformers and GI joe crossover? I'm not talking about a Hiss Tank that turns into Cobra Commander. I'm talking about a Ram Cycle that turns into Elita and a Stalker figure. Maybe it wouldn't be feasible until the Joe movie comes out. But, would Hasbro even consider something like this?

Just thinking about it, it'd probably be upwards of $80 or more, the cost of an Anniversary Optimus Prime.

What do you guys think?

I don't recall where (maybe in one of the Q&A's), but it was stated by Hasbro they want to keep the two properties seperate. So I don't think we'll see and Joe Transformers any time soon.

Yeah like Wild Weasel said. Hasbro has stated that they want to keep their non-scifi toy lines (GI Joe) away from their sci-fi toy lines (Transformers, Star Wars) this is why the Star Wars Transformers were even able to happen in the first place, because they're both sci-fi toys.

Personally I think it's kinda stupid. Especially since GI Joe and Transformers have had crossovers in comics and toons for years. Until the toys came out, Star Wars and Transformers had nothing to do with each other. I know there are fans who like to keep Transformers away from GI Joe, but there are some of us who would love this...heck I even have unmade plans in my head for Joe/Transformer customs! But for now we just have to make due with Roadbots.

BBTS has them here: 1:18 Roadbots

Masterpiece TF's are almost in scale with Joes. I've seen more than a few of you here on the 'tank that have pics of a MP Megatron and some kind of Cobra character. Or MP Optimus and SE or Duke. Roadbots are pretty cool. Shogi do you have any of these? if so are they sturdy or what? Can't tell from the BBTS pics.

Wait, do Joes fit into those Roadbots?

Also, I don't get the argument that Hasbro doesn't want to mix sci-fi and non-sci fi lines. They just agreed to have Marvel Transformers. Is that still considered Sci-fi? And with opening the line up to just Transformers Crossovers, I thought that was a subtle way of ensuring that they could mix Transformers with anything.

Thanks.

Sadly I don't have any Roadbots. They are 1:18 scale so they should have as good a chance of having Joes fit into them like any 1:18 car (Which is sorta hit or miss)

I've heard the RoadBots were okay. I have a friend that is really into Transformers and he had picked up the green Lambo and wasn't too thrilled with it. Thought it was kind of cheap actually. I would like to hear other people's impressions of them though.

Hasbro considered creating Transformer Alternators awhile back that would have been compatible with Joes, but decided against it. Here is a prototype pic from the Seibertron.com website.

I remember seeing some of those from photos someone took on a tour at Hasbro. They looked sweet. I think there was a Jeep and a tank too.
