Just got home from the Con about an hour ago (4AM Central Time) and just thought I would jot down a couple of things while they were fresh on my mind.
Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by the booth both to shop and just to visit. It was a real pleasure seeing all the regulars and so many new faces. You guys are the people who I do this work for, and it's always a real treat to see the reaction when people have the parts in their hands for the first time. Secondly, I like to thank the guys who helped work the booth. Paul, Josh and Dave all did a fantastic job of keeping the money straight and helping out the customers. I am very glad to call them all friends. My business partner (who wishes to remain nameless) for bringing it all to the table. Your the greatest bro! Thirdly, don't ever share a room with Adrien Veidt. He farts in his sleep. Seriously, it was a lot of fun to be able to share my good fortune with some of the guys I know and give them a chance to make it to Con when otherwise they might not have. You guys are welcome any time: BrotherShane Adrien Veidt Liftoff Mario (you big pimp you!) I'd also like to thank the people who decided to take the class. I had a great time relating my experience to you guys, and seeing the switch "click" when you guys began to understand the moldmaking process. It was a great deal of fun, and I hope to get to talk with you all again and see what you've done with your experience. Oh, BTW Destro (HISSTank), I've got your molds and original parts, so don't worry. Give me an addy, and I'll mail them out to you this week. A big thank you to Hasbro for putting on a great display, and making themselves so accessible to the sometimes ungrateful, buy always rabid fans. It was a blast chatting up the team, meeting the new guys, and getting to pick Richard's customizing mega-brain. Keep up the great work! Lastly (but not least), thanks to Brian Savage (and his cool wife Becky) and the GIJCC staff both for the opportunity to host the moldmaking class, but also for letting me be a part of the Con, and putting on a fantastic show! Really fine work this year, and I anxiously await the announcement for next years location. I'd like to take a moment to list some of the folks I met (both old friends and new), and say please keep in touch because the camaraderie at JoeCon is the best thing about going to JoeCon. BTW, if we met and I forget to add your name to the list, it's just because I'm getting old and you know what they say about your memory... Corey Stinson Brian Mulholland my new buddy Dameon from Nebraska! Dave Lane Charles Griffith Kevin Watts Chris Murray DMoore (thanks for the hot tip on those Polish proof cards) Ron Rudat, his lovely wife and son (it was a real pleasure talking artwork with you!)
