So i went to my good walmart were the toy manager is very nice and actually orders four or more cases at a time when they are out. Now they have been out for about a week so i talked to her and get this, she has had her order in for a while and she was told the warehouse had no joes so who's responsible for that happening?

Local Walmart here must have gotten 10 cases of joes yesterday, but only of wave 3. This is the first shipment since early Jan. There was, and I kid you not, 13 Stalkers, just as many Buzzers, Zartans, Cobra troopers and Serpentors. I counted 63 figures hanging on the pegs, only 2 were cobra officers, the rest were the same 5 figures mentioned.......
Waste of space, they won't get a shipment until april now cuz those figures will hang there forever!!!! I AM SO DAMN TIRED OF HUNTING!!!

Somehow the lack of product on the shelves must be addressed at toy fair, surely hasbro can't be happy with the fact that the line sells like hot cakes but the stores won't keep enough product on the shelves.

the tru on my way home from work had about a dozen wave 1 comic packs. no wave 2, and probably no chance at all of seeing wave 3. I hate that they started the comic packs with that tripe.

I still need destro and breaker, and now wild weasal and the twins are out! We already sold out of the wave 1 comic packs in all our area stores two weeks ago and we have not been restocked with comic packs or singles, How the frick does the walmart warehouse not have any joes, And how the heck does power rangers get twenty pegs of figures literally and joe gets 4 that is insane.

atomic power, you are saying the wave 1 cmpk are tripe? i wouldn't call it tripe, but i think i know what you are saying. this concerned me when i first saw this wave before it was released. i figured this would rot on the shelves and it did and does. therefore, i think, prevents the store from ordering more. i wish hasbro had started the cpacks with more of a bang, giving retailers a real idea of the impact. now they got a bunch of ccs and dukes that they always want but can't get rid of.

My wal mart got 4 cases of wave 4 in today. I am not complaining though, any joes are better than no joes at all. I figure if they keep ordering and we keep buying, well then maybe we will see more and more cases of future waves...

Maybe, maybe joe will knock it out next year with the movie line but thats skeptical. It sucks for us collectors that Power Rangers gets way more space and supply, but it sells well each year, and walmart has a lot of faith in it. Kids outnumber us, a ton of them and parents buy power rangers, compared to the guys collecting the anniversary joes, who tend to be older collectors. Does Walmart have faith in joe? Lets just say that if they did, you wouldn't have the Corps sharing shelf space near them, and they would have wanted single carded figures way back during the 2002 relaunch. It took 5 years for single card gijoes to return to all major retailer shelves(since DTC and others were relegated to either TRU or closeout stores). Also, joe has not done as hot at retail in past years compared to power rangers. Whereas power rangers has a new series brought over and domesticated from japan each year, and a lot of sales, joes usually don't hit retail each year with the same amount of success. In other words, it has not been consistently successful compared to Power Rangers. The closest thing with regards to success in hasbro's arsenal is Transformers. With that said the joes are still hard to find, but in my personal experience, not as hard to find as last year. Walmart has always had questionable distribution with regard to toys favored by collectors. The joes were hard to find last year, as was Masterpiece Starscream, and especially the ML Giant Man wave, good god. The only exclusives at walmart that are ever easy to find are Star Wars ones, and again its oft said in the toy industry, nothing compares to Star Wars, which is why so many risks are taken with the toys and big items put in place because they know it will sell. I can't say distribution for joes will get better, but I hope it does. |
