A friend of mine who was helping me find joes came across 1 open case and 1 closed case on a pallet at Target. She was looking in the open case and a Target employee took both cases away...She was freaking out because he was kind of rude to her...The funny thing is, another guy was looking through the same opened case. He took, from what she said, an armful of figures and headed to the register...

I've never done that, but only because I look at the cases and can usually figure out if it's the Wave I'm looking for and it hasn't been so far. I did once ask a Wal Mart henchman to open a case up for me. She was very obliging, too.

Well remembering my retail days as much as I do. I personally did it when Star Wars was re-released so I got all of those. However, when I saw others doing it I just reminded myself that those were items I did not have to unpack and shelf myself. Free labor is a wonderful thing.

I've done it... though if a worker is near I'll ask if it is OK. Usually they say "sure, go for it..." but there was an occasion where they said "NO!" and hauled the cart away that contained the figures.
Thing that I hate is when you attempt to ask for assistance... say there's a solitary figure sitting on a peg... and you ask if they have any more. The response is, without anyone looking in the computer/scanning the product: "No, all that we have is what's on the floor." Sure, I believe this is probably the case in some instances, but in many, judging by the level of hostility in the employees voice, they're: a. full of poo; b. Lazy; or c. directed to say that to anyone that asks per management. Last edited by Lantern_Lad; 08-26-2009 at 12:15 PM.. |

I was asked not to do it at my Wally. Got to the register one time with an unopened case of Wave 1 vehicles and they had problems trying to ring it up without opening the case.

I've asked in the past and some people will let you open them, others won't. So I started going by the old saying "it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission", and I just open stuff up whenever I want. I don't take it to the side or anything. I open it up right there on the pallet in the middle of the store. nobody's ever said anything to me yet.

The only other possible explanation is the backroom is so unorganized, even if there was one back there, ya aint finding it. |
