Does this ever happen to you?
You're rummaging through the pegs and you think you see something you're looking for, like you actually "see" only to discover it's something else? At a glance today I mistook a Paris Pursuit Snake-Eyes for the Matrix Baroness. I could have SWORN that's what I saw. I've collected too long, methinks... Where's Bushwick Bill when you need him? |

I buy 2 week old comics that I already purchased...sometimes because I don't really pay attention to the covers... like I just bought the same damn issue of X-Men Utopia I bought two weeks ago... to be fair the comic store is really bad about pulling the
'new this week' tabs or whatever when something new sells out. I don't collect so I pay no mind to the covers sometimes. heheheheh that or they don't leave a lasting impression so my brain barely files them sentimentally.

What's worse, is I don't even buy very many titles! I think it's because I've fallen for 2nd printings with different covers, thinking it's the needs issue. With figures, I'll get fooled by a glance every now and then, but it's better to feel dumb for a minute than miss something! 25th was a lot easier to skim through! Fewer pegs, for one, but I nearly missed Accelerator Duke today since they photoshop the same head on every package. They just don't pop like a 25th card featuring familiar classic art does. Here's a tip for Baroness. Even though the toy has black molded glasses, he portrait on the card has clear glasses. Should be easier to spot that way when thumbing through a huge section of pegs without knocking toys all over(like my clumsy ass does) |

I was once excited to find a new version of a Star Wars Ewok figure, only to get it home and find out I already owned one.
When they put the RoC Combat Heroes on a sidecap at Wal-mart I swore they were the exclusive two-packs until I got closer. The mind does funny things to a collector.

I sort of do the reverse. I pass something when I am hunting through the pegs. I checked back once more to make sure and I find something like a pit commando that I could have sworn wasn't there the first time.
