In the climax of my Joe-Verse story, COBRA Commander reveals his master plan for world domination: COBRA Island itself has been transformed into an airborne continent and rises from the sea like the Biblical Beast and blasts GIJOE HQ and Washington, DC into volcanic craters and afterwards succeeds in global conquest. The survivors of GIJOE lead the resistance against the COBRA empire.
Serpolis is the technological COBRA city founded on top of it. I'm wanting to add some Serpolis-themed stuff to my COBRA display, but I'm not sure what architectural theme to use. I've thought of green Greek/Roman with obligatory snake statuary. I've also thought of silver Egyptian with same. Any ideas? All feedback/help is appreciated! |

I've always been fond of Art Deco from the 40's. Maybe something from the early communist or socialist days of Russia. Big Statues are a must. I would imagine CC being a very flamboyant type.

Got any pictures of what you've set up.
I see Cobra Commander as more like a Caeser, running his empire Greek style. So a greek/roman look would be good for that. Serpentor, I see as a total pharoh, so egyptian would work for him. How hi-tech is it? Eqyptian is, I believe, easier to add sci-fi and hi-tech elements to it's style then Greco-Roman.

Well first off, if you actually say "Serpolis" out loud, it sounds like "surplus" so a huge army/ navy store would be in order...
I'd go with the green and gold Greek/Roman neoclassical look just off the top of my head. If I think of anything actually helpful later, you know, something that everyone else hasn't already borrowed heavily from throughout time, I'll let you know. Archs! Like the Arc de Triumphe (yeah i spelled it wrong so what). Lot's of Statues! Murals depicting the conquering Cobra troops driving beaten enemies before them, a mix of Greco/Roman with a slightly Nazi feel. Huge banners hanging down.

it sounds greek/roman so i would go with that theme.. i've seen tankers get columns used for cakes, so that could work. gardens an fountains would be nice too. an a arena for captives to battle it out for the public to watch would be grand.. nice plaster cobra commander statues would be sweet as well, like 12 inches tall (unpainted). but i have no clue on how to obtain one though..

For statues, just use figures. Buy textured spray paint at the hoppy store and spray them to look like actual stone!

You might try some aqarium stuff for the columns and stuff, I have seen some cool stuff that would work well in dios.

European architecture, but a mixture. I agree with the flowing banners and statues.
