I haven't seen too much stuff from the 80's still hanging on the pegs. I think I saw a hotdog from the 80's at 7/11.

I think there are way too many 80's collectors. I can't find any of the toys I want anymore. Everybody is holding on to their 80's toys & now they've all dried up. There used to be tons from every line on ebay, now there's hardly anything. There are couple rare figures I want & I'll probably never ever be able to find them.

Love the 80s here, especially the toys.

There is always a spot in my heart for the original toys, they inspired what we have today, but todays figures are just better in a number of ways, at least to me. Articulation, detail, its just hard to draw comparisons between these figures and the old ones.
Much respect for the originals, but I'll stick with 25th/ME/new stuff in general, O rings are for nostalgia only.

when i got back into collecting (fall 2008) i was only interested in the old stuff. that's what i had from when i was a kid and i didn't want to get wrapped up in the new stuff. at some point i broke down and bought some modern stuff and now i'm hooked on that too.
seems to me that originals were better made, had higher quality control and got updated. pros for the modern stuff is that it is more friendly for customizing and is more readily available.
i got myself into some serious financial trouble building my oldies collection on ebay, but now with the modern stuff i can pick or choose from whats at the stores and only buy when there are sales
