that isn't really fair...covergirl has had alot of dye jobs over her life as a joe...even in the sunbow cartoon...
i'm tired of people stating that not supporting ROC will doom gi joe... ROC won't fail because hasbro smartly is mixing in arah style figures and resolute figures in with roc figures...

See the thing is, I like the movie. I gave it a 7 out of 10. I have even picked up some ROC figures, Got the Doc white and black coat last night. Also finally got PP snake eyes, and baroness. no helix though. The toy my son did pick out was the Gun ship with Firefly. And again, he's not allowed to see the movie, so maybe he would like them if he did see it. Mom is a censornazi when it comes to certian things.
I actually haven't discussed the changes with him because I don't want him to come off as a biggot if he talks about race changes and things like that so I made a decision not to point things like that out. that is why he said "different" and didn't point it out. This is the same kid who asked if he could grow his hair out to donate it to charity when he was 7 and his friend in school got luekemia. He's not a parot, he's an individual and knows I love him no matter what. He likes DC comics characters, I can't stand them, I'm a Marvel purist. Passing judgement on a kid you've never met or interacted with is a load of bull@#$@. I'd rather my kid admit he likes or dislikes something and have a reason for it than to be a brainwashed sheep to brand loyalty. |

Dude if the op wants to bash ROC that's his perogative. IF you can't let someone express their opinion without getting all bent out of shape, go do something else. Stay out of threads like this if they bother you.

It's kind of lke the marvel figures, they cost so much now I pick and choose which ones I want to buy, some of the face sculpts are just horrilbe (ie. blade) I think the brand will come along stronger than ever and that we will see some of the clasics in the future. The marketing geniuses that Hasbro has working for them will of coarse package these figures with 4 others you all ready have or don't want. But that makes them money and is why they win. |

personally i thought that story was cool...it's the equivelant of a dad who is a fan of a team...and his son is picking a favorite sports team...and instead of picking the cross town rival...the son picks dad's team...it's an elbow pump moment...
it's like a kid being given a choice to watch lord of the rings or star wars...and the kid picks star wars...a kid choosing something that his dad also grew up on is a revelation...it's a great thing for a father...because it gives them a connection... for someone to say its a pot shot at roc is completely laughable...

I have to agree there, stuff like the battle stations and the Snake armor are what is going to dent my pocket. With so many choices available it just lets people pick and choose what they want. But I have seen a lot of peg warmers so far. I am going to pick up a Pit for my son and I, he did think that was awesome but I had to tell him it wasn't $100 awesome. lol.

But that makes them money and is why they win. my only problem with it...is one of the walls is break away...and it "breaks away" when i dont want it to sometimes...they should have made that side a living quarters too...it would have been a perfect base even with the cardboard accessories and the handle that you can't use... the only problem is...cobra is no match at all...without their own base...or very "large" vehicle...the joes have the two biggest in the rhino and pit...

are we to believe the child came to this conclusion on his own and isn't simply repeating what he has heard his father say to make him happy, which is something very common with children? the fact that old papa is proud of his son reveals his own position on the matter and it is more likely than not he is just repeating proud ol' dad's own position. essentially, daddy is proud that his son can repeat his own feelings and seeks his dady's approval.
that's very sad. nothing makes me happier than seeing my daughter think and act on her own. the last thing I want her to be is me. Truth.

perhaps you should attempt to understand what is going on before chiming in. Quote:
Okay asshole...it's you. Every flame war here, every disagreement, every time something needs to be dropped there you are...right in the thick of things egging people on. Why?? Don't you have anything better to do with your time. Do you sit all day in front of the computer trolling the threads waiting to spout your BS any chance you get. I tried to be cool with you...I tried to say lets move on...I tried to say we'll agree to disagree but yet still you come back. Still you want to push peoples buttons. I'm ready lets' go...bring it on.
