you claim he came to that position on his own. highly unlikely. you also said that you would have been equally proud if he liked ROC. than you aren't proud at his position, which your post insinuates, just that he is able to form opinions. so, you are extremely proud that he likes or dislikes chocolate, maybe likes blue jeans over cargo shorts, etc. etc.? that doesn't seem to be what you are getting at with this thread at all. as a father, my child's ability to form an opinion is expected and not something I celebrate, I celebrate the opinion itself. like I said, this thread was just another ROC bashing, but hidden behind the voice of your child. hey, guys, look, my child sees the criticisms of ROC too, and he's only 9! that's what this thread was about. |

Psychology is the psuedo science of escapism. This was never roc bashing, this was about a kid that wants hasbro to make more remakes so he can get all his favorite figures. I am proud that my son doesn't eat sweets and would rather have an apple, by choice. I don't understand your argument. I think it is truely awesome that my kid likes the ARAH story better than the current direction, i've pointed out numerous times in the thread why I think it is cool. I didn't know pointing out an ugly figure was bashing an entire line, if so most people here hated 25th anv because of diaper crotches, duke arms, and viper arms. Choosing quality over mediocrity should always be praised.
I think it will take him time to do what we as grown ups do and look at individual pieces of a figure for custom fodder, I have found so many parts that I'll be using to help recreate all the 80's/90's joes that he likes and i'll teach him that it is possible. I just don't believe that someone could think that children are not capable of individualism and forming their own ideas. I have never said I wanted to write hasbro to tell them what I think about anything. He came up with that idea all on his own. |

Dude, you shouldn't feel the need to justify your or your son's behavior. It's a damn shame that you feel the need to when you were just trying to relay what you thought was a cool story. Where else should we go to tell our Joe related stories?!
I didn't see any hidden anti-RoC messages in your OP because I wasn't looking for any. And I think it's weak (not on your part) that you have to reiterate the same points every other post just to explain yourself. You don't have to, we don't come on here to defend ourselves. And anyone taking even thinly veiled potshots at a fellow Tankers kid has dropped off my radar damn near for good, BTW. |

that's not what anybody said, that all opinions are formed that way. but your posts clearly reveal your own preference on the matter, and when a child's opinion clearly replicate the parent's, the motivation for a child is obvious. if not, the study of psychology would be worthless if it was never applicable.
