I believe Joe played a part in me joining but it wasn't the only reason.

It probably played some small role, but nowhere near as much as my family simply having a long-running military tradition, which probably played into my initial interest in Joe in the first place. It's a vicious circle.

maybe a little, always wanted to be a Marine but I would say it was more the job choice. I ended up having Scoops job (one of my favs from the CC battle armor days) but I think PVT Joker in Full Metal Jacket was the guy that really pushed me to the job I wanted.

Joe had nothing to do with it. always wanted to be a USN Corpsman and then upgraded that with the USMC as a Devil Doc.

Ended up on the USNR, driving a forklift, lifting heavy boxes, and making fun of Marines doing PT in the morning (the folks I was with were a bunch of serious tattooed roughnecks, so it didn't always end so well for either side). I wouldn't say Joe influenced me to join, but it certainly left my opinion open re: serving or not.
