We just got restocked in tulsa and we went backwards 3 waves, i just don't understand what the rhyme or reason is to this. I have all the troopers i can buy, and i don't need any more of stalker or serpentor. Why is it we still see very little of the crimson guard wave and they are still sending out tons of the earlier wave. By tons i mean way less than we see of tf and star wars figures, which get triple the amount of pegs as joes and yet sell far less.

you struck a nerve ship. i live in kcmo and i've been singing this song for a loooooooooooooong time. we are in a black hole dude. i just ordered wave 5 today online, i gave up hunting them. had to have a crimson gaurd.
my guess is they hit in the west and trickle westward, who knows. clicking a button is my new gas peddle, screw it. |

You got that right A.V.A.C about KCMO. I also live here and can hardly find anything. I have found a few things at FT Leavenworth before Christmas, but not much else around KCMO. From what I have heard and checked on the Mid-West is a lousy place for getting anything from HASBRO.

Hasbro is trying to fill demand, and producing waves 5 and 6 can't do it on their own. now, we all want the newer figures, but they can only make so many of them, and running those molds isn't filling the demand, so Hasbro has to use other figures.
here's a hypothetical example. let's say the retailer demand for orders of Joe figures is 10,000 figures per month, but running at full capacity each wave can only produce 3,500 figures per month. so, waves 5 and 6 alone fall well short of meeting the demand, so Hasbro has to create a revision wave of figures whose molds aren't being used to make product to fill the demand, thus you get this wave 2/3 combo revision. it isn't that Hasbro is going backwards, it is that they can only produce so many figures per month with the molds they have. producing more molds isn't feasible because they are expensive and eat into cost, and it is far more profitable (and thus beneficial to the line and you and I) to simply make a filler revision wave. it is simply a manufacturing issue. |

Does that explain why the wave my store just recieved contained stalker, buzzer, red ninja, zartan, officer, trooper and serpentor- that is a totally odd combination of multiple waves together in one case. have to say i was shocked there were officers in these cases.

There are multiple threads showing that pic of the old toy store isle packed with Joe. We all drool over it and talk about the good old days. Just remember that in the 80's, figures were available for 2-3 years at a time. Thus it's not so odd that they would still be shipping figures that were released only 4 months ago! Yeah, it sucks when you're waiting on the latest and greatest figs. However, I'll bet in the 80's distribution, while larger quantities, was just as messy, but we were kids with no internet to let us know the whole world wasn't in the same boat as our towns. Trust me, Hasbro wants to see that you have the opportunity to buy every figure you want. They would like nothing better. |

I agree there is only one wal mart in the area that stocks more than a case of figures at a time, im sure you know which one im referring to, and target in b.a has been decent about restocking but i have about 30 troopers and officers so the filler wave is a killer wave for me

like I said, if each wave can only produce x amount of figures per month, but you need to make y amount, you need different molds not being used to make up the difference -- hence the random wave of figures that have already been released. |

I have also seen my share of troopers and officers in my area. I was lucky however to see wave 5 several times at target, and once at wal mart. I bought mine the first time i saw it at target and ever since wave 4 hit and this wave with all of the fillers, i haven't seen any wave 5. Maybe we will see future filler waves this year with wave 5 figures...
