I like having him and the Baroness as brother and sister. The Baroness was always supposed to have split loyalties between CC and Destro, but in both the cartoon and comic it was always clear who she would choose if she had to let one one die and another live. Although its a little strange for parents to name a son "Rex" and a daughter "Anastasia."
Military men who become dictators usually do so when they want to restore or "save" an existing government. Also, Hitler became powerful because of his voice, not his relatively undistinguished military record. Revolutionary leaders trying to overthrow governments, on the other hand, often did not have military backgrounds. Lenin didn't. Trotsky (who organized the Red Army) didn't. Fidel Castro and Che Guevara didn't. One thing many dictators and revolutionaries have had in common is that they've come from surprisingly modest backgrounds and were often failures in their other endeavors (Hitler's art career, for example) I've all but erased Cobra-La from my memory. Anyone want to buy a used car? Cobra! |

But they don't have the same parents in the comic book, only in RoC.

This is my favorite Thread since joining the Tank, and the most fun I've ever had at work, and I sell used cars for a living.

The conra la version. Cobra has always been more "arcane" and joes in the "real world" in thier approach. The idea of a one with the eath society from ages long ago was kinda fun, and added an acient enemy element to the mythos. To me it made cobra commander long lived, and thus able to slither though time and do all kinda stuff. I supposed his departure to the world from cobra la was more of an exile, and thus the rest of the cannon starts then. With some tweaking here and there (and i am still learning all the cannons, only knew the toon until a few years ago) you can make all the lines and stories fit..somehow. What if ol crome dome did his first crimson life swap with the crazy car salesman? Sure there are a lot of lines to tie up, but it all ends with chewbacca as cobra commander's dog...trust me. The idea of an almost immortal many eyed freak screwing with humanity is just wicked, besides the joes and foes got to be pushing arouind 60 by now, and no one else can fill that helmet! COBRA!
