There seem to be a lot of opinions on the new Joe items being released right now. I have to admit, I would love to have a new 3.75" line with vehicles, playsets, and a return to the format that made ARAH great. Right now we have the 6" Classified line (which I think is pretty cool... just look at the Destro!), and a Retro line that is a rehash of stuff we've already had. If history teaches us anything, it's that we should wait and see. Remember how we had the GI Joe vs Cobra/Spy Troops/Valor vs Venom lines for a few years give way ti Sigma 6 and the DTC line? After being saturated with all of that Joe, Hasbro eased back into the market with the 25th line (that started with 2 5 packs and no vehicles). That led to the greatest era in GI Joe since ARAH. I believe if we bide our time, history will repeat itself. GI Joe is back on the shelf in stores. This is a good thing. Give it time, guys. There is a good chance the best is yet to come!!!

Between the Classified Red Ninja, Arctic Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, and the Retro HISS, I'm pretty happy with what we've gotten so far, and there's still a lot coming.

I was in a very good place last Friday, after Retro's release. Everything seemed to be going well for Joe.
Then Tuesday's debacle (with two of the three figures I really wanted for Classified involved) put me in a very sour mood that I can't shake. It also doesn't help that Baroness and the Trooper look like the two best figures in the 6" line (and I'm including wave 2 in that). I only need three different figures to have a decent Joe collection: Cobra Commander, Baroness, and the Cobra Trooper. So I'm not in a great place right now.

“Patience my a$$, I’m gonna kill somebody.”
The problem is, we’re not getting any younger. The entire crew that worked on G.I. Joe from the 25th Anniversary to the 50th Anniversary stuff either is no longer with the company or on another brand. The current team doesn’t seem to know jack$hit about G.I. Joe. We’re never gonna get what “we” want and the die hard/hardcore fandom will never be 100% happy. I love G.I. Joe but for the past three years and probably until I’m 6’ underground, my money will go to Marauderinc.

My sympathies go out to the 6" collectors, but I can't help but think that the Target exclusives will get a re-release, with 2 different Destros, 3 CCs, and now 2 Roadblocks out, like others have mentioned. As for Retro, like Jinx I'm mainly with Marauder at this point, but they'll still be good for vehicles, heads, webgear, and so on. I'm hoping to pick up at least one AWE Striker when they're in stores, no idea on the chances of it though. Haven't set foot in the toy aisle in a while (feels awkward as an early 20-something; somehow it feels more natural for a 40-50 yo guy to be there lol).
Also, a bit off topic, but when I read the title of this thread, I really hoped it would be lima giving this sort of advice lol. |

Yeah, I can't imagine that Baroness (who is featured prominently in the card art for the other figures) won't get a later standalone release. Ditto for Beachhead and the Cobra Trooper.

Love Guns N’ Roses. Saw them in concert a few summers ago. Listened to them today while playing X-Men/Deadpool Munchkins with my kids.
I am telling myself not to be too worried about the Target fiasco. I have not missed a Target exclusive yet and don’t intend to now. (Also, while I am telling myself that, I am at times not listening and am curled up in the fetal position on the ground. I am exaggerating there, but I am 100% being truthful when I say I have had chest pains for months that get worse when I think about the Target situation). |

I need more patience. At the same time, I think I've been patient enough. Make use of Zarana & Zandar together, the younger twin siblings of Zartan, already!
