My first Joe/vehicle was Wild Bill and the Dragonfly. Then I spent my birthday money on Lady Jaye (instead of Ripcord), Torch (instead of Tele-Viper), and the Armadillo.
I could tell you which figures and vehicles my brother and I got for five years following that, and maybe a few more if I really thought about it. I guess Joes left an impression on my memory!

I had a lot of Joe's when I was a kid, but for some reason, my memories always bring me back to having Snow Job driving my Polar Battle Bear, and Scarlett on one of the back pegs
. I guess they were my first Joes.

I want to say it was Flash or maybe Zap. Of the original 13 I had only a few until a few years later when there was a mail-in offer called Operation Freedom and I purchased Stalker, Grunt, Rock N Roll, Doc and a new Flash.

Thanks! I dearly loved that TRUs. I shopped there for around 30 years!

My first small Joe was the 87 Falcon. The late 80’s I started looking for the old Joes at antique stores and toy shows. The newer 3 3/4 stuff at the time made me sick but I bought some for my nephew at Christmas. I remember finding Cotswold collectibles catalog and thinking I had gone to Heaven. Eventually I started getting 1/18 scale stuff when 21st Century got involved and the smaller GI Joes were soon finding their way into my collection to flesh out my squads and for kit bashing customs.

Straight arm short-fuse. I remember vividly as I shoved the launcher in his hand and his thumb immediately broke off. My Gma took me back to the store and I got breaker.

Flash. He looked cool and my cousin didn't have him. He also lost his lower leg (Flash, not my cousin) on the playground to a ball thrown by an older kid when I was in 1st grade. He was in my backpack and got nailed. He thus became Doc's patient from that point on. Thanks to 21st century medicine, Flash will get a new leg as soon as the mail man brings it.

Doc. Not only was Doc my first GI Joe, he was the first toy that I got that I ever got to pick out on my own. I don't remember exactly where I got him now, but we were on vacation and I was in awe of the art on the cards of the GI Joes. I believe I was told I couldn't have one that came with a gun, but luckily there was Doc to save the day and ignite a love that still endures to this day.
