In just a few weeks the movie will be out, the toys will have been on shelves for a month and the flood of Joe non-toy items will have officailly flooded the shelves. Those who love the ROC stuff and those who hate it are already choosing sides, while those who could care less and are just buying what they like while staying out of the entire mess. The lines are starting to be drawn and come what may we are about to have a new era of the GI Joe legacy.
Where do you stand? Are you for it or against it? Do you even care? As the Joe world as we, the children of the 80's know it, changes where does your allegiance stand? Me personally, I am all for change. I don't care about what is changing I just care that GI Joe survives. I realize what in order for the toy line to remain, changes must happen. I like what I see in the trailers and I am enjoying what I am finding on the shelves. So lets hear you words. I want to know what you feel. As the movie approaches are you with it or against it? "Share with us your view points". Oh and please do not turn this thread into an attack on any one, let all opinions be heard, even if you don't agree. Hugs to all Samantha

I'm with the Baroness!
I'm open minded to the movie but I just don't find the majority of the ROC toys appealing to join my armies. There are few figs that I need but I'm not getting everything like the 25th/ME line.

I just want the toys . lol I don't mind I love the old stuff but I'm way to happy with the 25th line and the 25th sculpting. cuz I like to do dio shots I find you can get better poses outa the 25th styling
hence this movie line figures are sweet . and I know at the start people didn't like them . but you can see Hasbro is trying to get our old favs into it and new ones for future fans |

I'm looking forward to the change. ROC for me is what Joe vs Cobra, Valor vs Venom, Spytroops, and to a extent, Sigama 6 WASN'T, which is a new take on my second favorite toy line. The ideas for those lines were good, but they were just executed poorly. If I want my fix of "Classic Joe's", I got the Marvel comic's, the Sunbow Cartoons, and my 25th Joe figures, to satisfy those cravings.

im not for all of it but i do like alot more then i thought i would, i think that its kinda turning a bit VvsV looking though and i hated that line alot. im not a big fan of any of the vehicles really and i am getting a bit disapointed with all the color changes to vehicles and the missles launcher add ons.
as long as hasbro sticks in some original figures that were not made in the modern era line i will be cool with that, i also like some of the newer figures as well like elite viper and pit commando so im all for cool new charactors like that, i think that the ROC line is really hit and miss, hasbro is trying to get a new fan base but also trying to please us at the same times so im content for now but i really want the modern line back.

I like the changes so long as aspects of what I remember GI Joe to be remains intact. Personally, I love the GI Joe of the 1980s that I grew up with, but I have to admit it's not all good. (Of the first four DVD packs I have, only the fourth one proved to be fairly exciting to me. To think I once enjoyed this!) Changes may be intended to make it better and up-to-date, but they may prove to make it worse. Me, I'm watching the movie, as I've bought some of the toys. After I've done so will I say whether it was a good update or it still needs improving.

I'm staying away for the most part, buying anything that can pass for 25th/Modern Era figures - for loose only, no MOC.
So far there's a few on my list but I will wait for them to hit retail. I'm in no rush.

I was totally sucked into the 25th figures, I bought everything I could. Now, I'm just buying what I like.
I will go and see the movie, still, a little on the fence, I guess because of all the attention. I hope Hasbro remakes some of the old figures that didn't get made during the 25th, as well. Just don't gove them "the throwin' Deuces" hand that Mainframe and Chuckles got. |
