It seems that a lot of the changes happening to G.I. Joe in different forms of media are spreading across the entire franchise. What do we have so far?
- Cover Girl is blonde - Ripcord is black - Dial Tone is female - Heavy Duty is the go to black heavy gunner |

First, define what previous incarnation you are comparing to. And be more specific that just ARAH.
Example: 80s cartoon, Duke & Scarlet were an item. *0s comic & DDP comic, Scarlet & SE were together. Resolute, she was with both, but picked Duke when forced to choose. RoC, she & Ripcord flirt around & there's some type of bro/sis type relationship between her & SE. I think in the current comic she's with Duke? Redheads . . . . . . .

- Repeater is Black
- Scarlett seems to be in some kinda relationship with Ricord - The accelerator suits - Duke was best friends with the man who becomes CC - Duke used to date the baroness - the Baroness is CCs sister - Snake Eyes has taken a vow of silence, and isn't mute |

I think these are ROC-only changes. The changes to Ripcord and Cover Girl were in effect in Resolute, but Cover Girl and Roadblock were still basically in the ARAH forms.

Uh, Cover Girl being blonde isn't new. Go back and watch the MASS Device mini-series. CG was blonde from the start, they changed her to a redhead later.
Also, Ripcord being black and Dial-Tone being female were Resolute and Comic changes respectively. As for Heavy Duty, he was the heavy weapons guy in Sigma 6. OB Last edited by OreoBuilder; 07-26-2009 at 11:29 AM.. |

When I say Real American Hero(RAH), I mean the Hama written comics and file cards(while they may have had a few differences, these 2 sources were mostly the same continuity). I'm using differences that appear in more than one source, not just something that was different in ROC or Resolute. For example:
- Cover Girl is blonde (ROC, IDW Comics) - Ripcord is black (Resolute, ROC, IDW Combat Heroes HC [children's book]) - Dial Tone is female (Resolute, IDW Comics) - Heavy Duty is the go to black heavy gunner (ROC, IDW Comics) I didn't include Storm Shadow being pure evil like he was in Resolute because I'm hoping he is a more rounded character in ROC(anyone who's read the comic or novel adaptation will know better than me). I'm also not sure if the explanation for Destro's mask in the IDW comics is similar to what happens in ROC. For now, the above differences seem like they might be here to stay since they are already appearing in multiple sources. Although, Masters Of The Universe had a line wide reboot with several media tie-ins a few years ago only to later go back to the canon/appearance they used in the 1980's. For some reason, I feel Hasbro is less nostalgic for the history of their franchises than Mattel seems to be for theirs. Last edited by SMARTASS8; 07-26-2009 at 01:39 PM.. |

I'm not just siting ROC changes, but anything that is different fromt the 1980's line that has appeared in more than 1 current source. |
