Check this out:
I put this up several months ago. These animations need to be put on the new DVD compilations only with higher resolution. Someone has to have the original broadcast tapes. I got these videos off of a G.I.Joe DVD on ebay months back. These commercials where actually better than the actual episodic cartoon amazingly. If the new film had any of this stuff in it, the film would not fail. However, something tells me they are out of touch. We shall see. PS: Sorry if I didn't post this in the right place! Forgive!

i truly appreciated that link. Brought me back for a few seconds to a time dear to my heart. I almost shed a half a tear it was so beautiful. The people responsible for this "Rise of COBRA" piece of sh!t coming out soon I hope you rot for destroying the essence of G.I. JOE

OMG!
I never seen these commercials before. I knew afterworth that Marvel had ads for the Joe comics but I never saw them. An the animation looks better than the actual cartoon. "...fighting Cobra & Destro.." that was funny. Seeing toys from 87-89 animated was so cool. Thanks for the compilation YO JOE!!!

Cobra Commander also voiced by Chris Latta used a less weaselly voice in the earlier commercials. I had bought a DVD off of ebay with these commercials on it. It was missing or had only partial videos of some of my favorite issues like issue #24 and #28. I actually wrote Bryan Ward (the new DVD compilation producer at Shout! Factory) to include these commercials in the DVD sets. Dont know if they will do it. I wish they would because this is important stuff. They never do what I want! But I believe I have a good idea! Anyway, until I can track down the guy who has the original broadcast masters so we can make a high quality dupe of them all, we will have to do with the low res goodness that I have been able to compile for all of us to enjoy!

I found a couple more obscure G.I.Joe comic commercials laying around on the web and they weren't posted yet on youtube so I did the deed. It is the commercials to G.I.Joe issue #24 and #28. They are some of the few issues which made me a believer out of G.I.JOe and bought into the fantasy lock stock and barrel and I have been collecting Joe ever since!
I just wanted to share these videos because you can't find these anywhere practically and I wish the new DVD sets would have these commercials also because the animation was better in my opinion in comparison with the regular show and plus it showcased some of the best characters to grace the pages of G.I.Joe! Up until recently I think the only versions of these commercials online was a clip edited out of the toy commercial. The toy commercial only showed a few seconds of the Marvel comic commercial which was a full 30 seconds of animation. Please check out these links and if you like it please opine! Thanks Tankers!
