My favorite characters, I buy in any scale. I have Snake Eyes(custom 1/12), Batman, Deadpool in 1/18, 1/12, and 1/6 scales.

I collect a lot of 4” lines, but I’m a Joe guy at my core. I’ve never been tempted by Marvel Legends or Black Series, but I’m tempted by these.

Good comments folks keep them coming. I think it’s interesting to see how so many of us that love G.I. Joe, can have such different perspectives. But, that’s what makes a Joe community diverse and enjoyable. I love the characters and it’s always going to be about the characters. Bring on 6”!

When I first started getting into the line in'82 the main reason was more for the vehicles and then the figures. But as I got more into the comic and Sunbow series then I was drawn more into specific characters as they were portrayed, especially in the comic series. I have every ME figure ever made, save for a few convention exclusives, but I'll gladly make room for more regardless of scale. Now where are those pre-orders?

To me, it's the characters that matter, absolutely.

Hmmm.
The characters are the same though. It's yet another Snake, yet another Destro etc. etc. If they released new (or previously unreleased) characters then the question is more appropriate. And in that case, it would depend. Edit: Releasing a 6" Heart-Wrencher, for example, may not be enough to persuade me to buy into the new line. But a few more like that, and then I'd potentially be giving in. And then buying all the *yawn* figures in the new scale to match the ones I actually wanted. When we were kids, our dad helped us to collect and build a very impressive N scale model railway set. It was always fun (and expensive) visiting hobby stores and finding a rare piece that we could add to our train table.
We purchased Model Railroader magazines and were fascinated by all the different scales enjoyed by people like us with a love for locomotives, and several collectors even had beautiful 1:8 scale 'live steam' locomotives in their backyards which they could actually sit on and ride. There’s not a thing wrong with those different scales, and model railroad enthusiasts shared a love for locomotives, but we never even once spent any of our hard earned money on items out of scale with our collection. For us, G.I. Joe is like that. We love the magazines and websites which show G.I. Joe in other scales and photos of peoples collections, but we have not wanted to spend a single dollar purchasing G.I. Joe outside of our 1:18 scale collection. As it was never tempting for me to purchase a 1:8 scale 'live steam' locomotive engine, I can also say that I am not at all tempted to purchase a 6 inch G.I. Joe action figure today. I’m happy for those who do desire to purchase them, and I will enjoy seeing others collect and display them. Their sales and manufacture will help to extend the legacy of the G.I. Joe brand and characters, but for me, they are an easy pass, and have no place at all with my 1:18 scale collection which spans 38 years of toys. If Hasbro is really done selling 1:18 scale items that I can add to my G.I. Joe collection, then my money just continues to go to Marauder Task Force, Cobra Stickers, Boss Fight Studio, and others for now so that I can continue to develop new items for my G.I. Joe 1:18 scale collection.

I am happy GI Joe will continue and am curious to see what direction they take in the Snake Eyes movie and the rumored Evergreen line. If it is all 6" figures I will be happy for everyone who is into that scale and it will also let me focus on continuing with the vintage run of Joes (82-94) and some select Modern Era 4" figures. If Hasbro throws us vintage collectors a bone and surprises us with a small 3.75" or 4"collectors type of line that would also be great. If not then I can focus on the remaining vehicles and figured I want from the vintage line and get more into restorations and perhaps reacquire a few of the Spy Troops/VvV vehicles I want.
